I was thinking about this today.... small cap stocks (which I like to trade) vs large cap stocks
Small caps are exiting, big caps not so much but they are safer.
In the end you are like a store owner. You buy stock for your store and sell it later for a higher or lower price. If you can do that with big caps or small caps in the end its about selling your "inventory" for a profit.
Patience is a key skill I lack. Just yesterday I bought REBN, a crappy coffee company (they all usually suck) because they are transitioning from just a wholesale bean operation into a full blown franchising play. Granted they are entering a field with fierce competitors and I dont completely have a grasp of how they will make money as a franchisor but a short time later they announced the creation of 33 new franchisees and the stock jumped from 3 to 6. I bought too soon and went all in at 6. I could have sold for a small profit but I wanted more. In the end I got frustrated and got rid of it close to what I paid.
The
very next day they announced plans for more international locations and it went to 8 dollars. Eight is what I wanted as it is the next reasonable "fib" level and all I had to do was wait 24 hours.
Here is the chart:
