I usually don't mix politics with sports fandom, but this was the reason I rooted for the Eagles in the SB.

Going back to last summer, seems like the Chiefs refused to condemn nonsense such as Harrison Buttker* because well, ownership is politically conservative. Patrick Mahomes is great but he's obviously not interested in offending his sponsors or (R) fans.** Meanwhile, Jeff Lurie DGAF about playing nice with Donny Trump.

I'd imagine Canadian players on the next Stanley Cup champions would also balk at visiting the WH. (Go Winnipeg Jets! )

* They actually gave him a lucrative extension.
** So he wouldn't talk bad about Butker or Rashee Rice.

This is all a bit premature. An invitation has not been extended. The Eagles have yet to put out an official statement. And the only media reporting this is "the Sun"? I believe it will play out like 2017 where the team WAS invited by Trump, but way too many players declined to Trumps dismay and he rescinded the invitation.
