I have a couple with that feature but if mechanism is well lubricated, you can often just whip the knife to one side and the blade will pop out and lock just like a switchblade.

My favorite knifes are the Bokers. I a sucker for Damascus style blades.

I don't normally carry a knife though. I do have steel extension baton that probably has a greater scare factor because of the extra reach.
