Question Asteroids@Home banning my IP?

Seems like last night they blocked me in the middle of downloading work. It seems to have been released after 12 hours, but I tried to log in and got blocked again.

Weird, site worked when I first went to it. Then when I tried to make a post on that thread linking to this post here I can no longer access the site.

It works fine on my phone/5G network though. So I made the post using my phone.

It might be like GPUGrid's website. Too many requests and a page would timeout, a refresh later would work. I thought I read they have some kind of DDoS security doing that.

If that's what it is they've set the limit way, way too low!

It was only a few clicks sometimes at GPUGrid, at least on the old site. A few minutes later and it was back though.

I don't think this is the same. I'm not running the project on any of my hosts at the moment so I'm not pinging the server(s) at all. I clicked the link once, it opened. I clicked reply, it went to "This site can't be reached" and I just clicked it again before making this post ~27 minutes later and again I got the "This site can't be reached" but it works fine on my phone right now. Even multiple refreshes, back to back still load fine on my phone.

I think something is broken or misconfigured on their end. As this makes no sense.

I'll post an update here since the Asteroids forum is rarely accessible. The server is under a strong DDOS attack from multiple locations and the admin is trying to ban them, but they're still doing it for whatever reason.
That's why you're experiencing timeouts, the server isn't blocking you. It's just overwhelmed by millions of requests from China...

I'm not getting timeouts. I'm getting immediate "connection refused" errors.

It might be a server-side issue affecting multiple users.

No. It seemed to have been fixed yesterday; I haven't tried it today.
