So, about that...There is no chance that 9950X3D CCD boosts over 5450MHz. Stop the hype train. Stop the hopium, it's over. It's been over. AMD has told us in multiple different ways already but people are still hoping it's better than it is.
I want it, cause I want it. Does that make sense!!That 9950X3D is a thing of beauty.
I game at 4K though so I don't think I would see much benefit from it.
WTF would you be crying about? There is zero chance you could tell the difference between them in game. One is Intel's current generation and costs $620 here in the U.S. the other I bought shipped and sold by Amazon for $270 years ago. When you "have x3d at home" but it's behind even a 285k
On topic: Zen 5% aged like warm milk. All of the haters are roaching out now. 🤣
Well doing a 180 while crashing is a sure way to put your opponent's glued together crap in the rear view mirrorEDIT: I take that back, you could tell the difference in Space Marine 2

I'm a glass half full kind of guy.You can't make this stuff up. Games where Intel CPUs can't even make it through the benchmark suite. They blamed it on Nvidia drivers, but I don't think anyone shopping for a CPU is going to care why. And so much for AMDip, almost double the 1% at 1440.
285 rekt in gaming. Zen 3 3D still relevant. 9950X3D may take some pressure off of 8 cores sales?

All the updates made Arrow Lake worse than Zen 4.After all the firmware updates, new miracle BIOSes, game profile schemes, Arrow Lake is still lost...
7950x3d being more efficient than 7950x is just a consequence of lower TDP (120W vs 170W). The lower TDP for Zen 4 X3D parts is explained by being unable to run them as hard with V$ CCD on top. It's been rectified with Zen 5, and 9950X3D now has the same TDP as 9950X.Phoronix results: https://www.phoronix.com/review/amd-ryzen-9-9950x3d-linux
Performance is good. But I'm rather disappointed by power consumption. 7950x3d was significantly more power efficient than 7950x, that doesn't seem to be the case for 9950x3d vs 9950x. I was, probably naively, expecting the same.
I still need to look deeper into the results 😀
Edit: this seems to show better efficiency, I feel better now
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D Review: Stunning gaming performance meets top-tier productivity
16-core monster ties the Ryzen 7 9800X3D in gaming.www.tomshardware.com
Makes sense, thanks! This can be seen in Phoronix results where 7950x3d is slightly behind 7950x in raw performance, while 9950x3d is slightly faster. As I said, I need to look deeper at all results to get a better understanding.@Nothingness makes sense to lose stock efficiency when the fmax limitation is lowered. HUB's video review has the 9950X3D in Eco mode results as well, you can see how it performs when power limited. I think anyone looking for better efficiency will just have to lower TDP a little.
I'll provide you with a visual aid to drive home my point -
35% in HUB 12 game suite alone. The goose egg from the Canucks review and some of the awful 1% lows in other titles. Games where it is 60-75%+ behind; it really is Intel's Bulldozer moment. At least BD had Vishera follow up a year later on the same board with 10-20% better performance. It appears Arrow is one and done. After all the firmware updates, new miracle BIOSes, game profile schemes, Arrow Lake is still lost...

That's from the link I posted in the edit of my messagenot too bad really
