Installed some Garage Door insulation (radiant barrier) - pretty happy with results

my garage door faces south and pretty much gets direct sunlight from lunch to sunset....the metal door definitely gets pretty toasty and you can easily feel the heat inside the garage.

I order some insulation from amazon and installed it and it looks to be working pretty well.

Temp is about 66 degrees outside. The insulated part is at 75 degrees and the bottom part without the insulation is already at 97.

I ran out out double sided tape so I will finish the bottom panel tonight. I used Robert's carpet tape instead of the double sided tape that came with the insulation.

I did the same thing with 1" foam, seems to help.

I DID THE 1" foam about 20 years ago. My brother had an easy-chair recliner in the garage, and he had a stereo and speakers out there. Combine those circumstances with his alcoholism. I was embarrassed for the neighbors and their discomfort, so I did the same thing essentially, putting the 1" foam insulation in each panel of the garage door. The primary concern was sound -- not heat. But maybe it insulates for that reason as well.

As for Bro. RIP. I miss my Bro. He died day after new years 2022. I wish he were still alive and as snockered as he wanted to be.

My garage gets pretty loud when I'm running the planer, dust collector, and air compressor. That only happens during normal working hours or after ten on the weekends. The sides are brick, so the garage door is the only real issue. The foam helped, but it's still very noticeable on the street in front of my house. No one has mentioned it being annoying, and we get along well enough that they would say something if it bothered them.
