You keep bragging about the Tesla fire sale

FWIW, "fire sales" are bad things:

A fire sale consists of selling goods or assets at heavily discounted prices. "Fire sale" originally referred to the discount sale of goods that were damaged by fire. Now it more commonly refers to any sale where the seller is in financial distress.

As far as leasing goes:

A new auto lease could work for people like you

Nah, I drive way too many miles for on-site service appointments. Most leases start at 10,000 miles a year.

Semantics aside, you've been mentioning how good the Tesla deals are. I don't think anyone is saying they're in "financial distress," at least not yet. Obviously they are pulling demand levers as hard as they can.

My main point is that auto leasing isn't the best choice for most consumers, regardless of how good the terms appear to be. It may not work specifically for your miles driven, but I was conceding that leasing for businesses can be valid. I'm sure there are some other scenarios where it's justifiable.

Multiple companies are offering 0% on EV's purchases as well. Some for 72 months, no less...

Once the dust settles on the home build I will go look at used Nissan Leaf or similar.

This does not bode well for me getting the BMW that I ordered. Stupid Trump will soon be putting tariffs on German cars. There is absolutely no way I am buying a Tesla.

All the people setting cars on fires should be charged with domestic terrorism and given life sentences. They have to go down hard on these people. We shouldn't have to be afraid to own a certain brand just because some wackos hate the owner so much that they'll destroy your property.

I keep eyeing the F150 Lightning, but I just can't justify paying that much for something that won't last my life time. 70k is about where they start once you factor the sales tax. With the tariffs it will probably go even higher.

Even the gas car prices are absurd now though. Like 50-60k for a regular pickup or SUV. Think I'm just going to stick to buying used gas vehicles for now, owning an EV is just going to be a dream. Even used, you have to pay a good 20k or so to get something that's not already rusting out.

People blocking traffic with their big rigs should be summarily executed on the spot. Isn’t this fun?

Have you considered buying a used Lighting? Surly a used Lightning does not cost $70K.

They've only been out for a few years, I don't imagine there will be any used ones for a long time. If ever I do find one in my area it's definitely a route I'd consider though.

A peaceful protest is not the same as destroying people's property, not even close. They had a valid cause and did not hurt anyone.

I would avoid the Leaf though unless you live in an area that never goes below freezing. Their batteries don't have thermal management and lithium batteries get damaged when they are charged in the cold.

guy on another forum has an old leaf, he put a hitch on it and goes to the lumber store with a trailer, drags logs around his place etc just generally abuses the heck out of it. It won't lay down.
Most of our drives will be <10 mile round trips. a little range reduction for running the heat is just not a thing.

Life in prison for vandalizing a car? Really? That makes sense to you?

Fixed it for you. You should be getting angry at the billionaires who are setting out to destroy the world instead of a bunch of normal citizens standing up against them.

Yeah what happens to Tesla corporate property does not concern me in the slightest. Personal property should not be damaged but Elon's stuff? Open season for those interested as far as I care.

We're in the beginning stages of a war. Make those fucking Teslas uninsurable, and people scared to buy them. Some people who just want a car to drive will get burned, but life sucks. Collect the insurance, and buy something else.

Look, if J6 shitfucks could attack police, break and enter, vandalize, conspire to kidnap, etc etc etc and get a pardon...

Then keying a Tesla is 100% on the table.

Actions have consequences. The laws that bind us all (in theory lol) have been irreparably weakened.

If we had our own demented whackadoo in the governership, I could see some threats of "blanket pardons" for anyone vandalizing a Tesla.

It would probably work for you then. They are getting dirt cheap. I may be selling my Leaf 24kwh soon and will probably be in the $2500 range. I'm also tempted to strip the drive train and put it in my ranger, but hate to junkyard an operating car.

I'd say in summer with an 80% degraded battery, you are looking at 60 mi range. Winter would probably drop to 40 miles if you store it outside and use heat. You can gain some miles back by precondition the cabin with it plugged into grid power

Destroying non billionaire people's property or trying to run them off the road is not a way to stand against billionaires. It's insane how people think it's ok to do this.
