If you're open to new data:

* With an average 10-year lifespan, a dishwasher saves 58,000 gallons over hand-washing, which is better for the environment
* Dishwashers use less hot water than the faucet, saving you money on the water heater bill

* Dishwashers are safer & more effective at cleaning the dishes because they use hotter water & superheated steam, which kills more bacteria and removes grease & oil better
* They also save all that time required to hand-wash dishes!

I don't know if I believe the water stats. I've seen the way some idiots wash dishes, and I could believe it for them, but I don't use a ton of water. Maybe more than a washer, maybe not, but it's a specious argument in my case. I don't live in a desert, and my water goes right back into the ground. For now anyway. I've been threatened with public sewage, but it hasn't happened yet. It will at some point.

As far as safety goes.... I've been doing things my way for decades, and never gotten sick from my preparation/cooking/cleanup. I wish I could say the same for commercial preparation...

Having worked in a commercial kitchen in the past...you are literally putting your life into their hands anytime you eat out. Doesn't matter if it's a 5-star restaurant or fast food. Behind the scenes is SCARY STUFF!

My friends and neighbors are constantly getting sick and have mystery health problems from Industrial Fast Food Establishments yet they fall victim to the sub-lime TV Commercials to eat at Industrial Fast Food Establishments...Industrial Fast Food Establishments are a Public Safety / Community Safety Hazard..
