Wu is not and should not be their replacement assuming you don’t want to hand the seat to Republicans
Where did I say I wanted her as a replacement for anything? I'm just saying the fact that somebody is one term and done or is about to lose their position in the next election doesn't mean anything. You are implying she had nothing to lose. I'm saying what about the Democrats in the Senate and other places who are retiring and have nothing to lose politically.

What's their excuse?

Multiple Dem Senators and other high ranking politicians are set to retire soon, I don't see them doing anything good.

I like Gillibrand or should I say I liked her.

But she too has to go.

I haven't bothered emailing her and Chucky yet as I'm too disgusted.. but I won't forget this. Sadly I think dems will as Chucky will be the fall guy.

Maybe I misunderstood I thought you were talking about some mayors and suggesting we need more people like these.
I am pointing out these folks are barely electable in a mayors race and they/she likely will not serve a second term.
Folks like these are not electable in a national race.

Despite living a couple towns north of Boston I don’t follow its local politics at all. What is wrong with Michelle Wu?

Admittedly I don’t follow her much it is the typical stuff liberals get hanged with like weird parties that are sort of expensive, weird spending priorities, she was big on bicycle lanes in the city which were plainly designed without those as a thought. I’m all for making it easier to move around the city but if that means roads get even more narrow how does that impact traffic?
She has money and I believe comes from money.
Again I don’t know a lot about her and it is her responsibility to ensure your & I know about her. She and her type are not the future unless you want to lose a lot.

Well, just keep telling yourself that going all in on a strategy that was a debacle the last election will be a winning one. Like I said before, it is like almost drowning in 10 feet of water, but somehow thinking jumping into 20 feet will have a better outcome. BTW, neither Bernie or AOC is FDR, and the country was in a very different place when FDR was president.
What planet are you on? Certainly not Earth. You're the one wanting to go all in on this ridiculous neoliberal strategy that has completely wrecked the party this century.

Uh, assuming this is all true, I’m very much in the “fuck Biden” camp. Although Gaza already had me well into that camp.

Whether she won or lost the election, he thought, she would only harm him by publicly distancing herself from him — especially during a debate that would be watched by millions of Americans. To the extent that she wanted to forge her own path, Biden had no interest in giving her room to do so. He needed just three words to convey how much all of that mattered to him.

“No daylight, kid,” Biden said.”

Not surprising in a way. Hard to campaign about how your current boss is terrible while supporting the policies of your current boss for the last 4 years.

But yeah, Biden should have given her a lot of latitude. She wouldn't even have to trash him. She could say "Biden and I agreed that this is the direction under his leadership, but when I am president I plan on charting my own course"

Considering how massive Biden's ego was to steamroll a primary and then after the d debate to keep fighting until it had to be a public disaster, I mean this is par for the course. That story sounds completely correct.

It's quite clear from the way events happened Biden is delusional. His legacy should be shit already. He fucked the country. It's absolutely obscene.

You know what's funny I think in a theoretical situation if the Democrats try to impeach Chucky, the Republicans would save his ass because he's good for them.

Imagine a leadership this fuck face egotistical delusional Biden, and the same thing goes for Chucky. I mean it's really fucking gross

What are you talking about? The same strategy as this past election? The one where they let Biden be anointed king and steamroll a primary? And then Kamala and Tim start off progressive and aggressive and get a search but then are pushed in the middle by the corrupt corporate consultant Democrat class? And then lose?

He's talking about a complete opposite strategy.
ondma is a conservative who held his nose and voted (D) in the presidential election, despite hating Tim Walz. He's nobody to be giving political advice to progressives.

Not buying it. Kamala Harris conceded her campaign strategy to Joe Biden? I don't think anyone was asking Harris to bash her boss. But given how voters were never happy with Bidenomics, you had to figure out an economic message that wasn't going to lose in every battleground state.

Trump is obviously a charlatan, but "no tax on tips" alone probably won him Nevada.

I look at it another way. Harris should have had the guts to stand up to Biden, and say she would do things differently. All you had to do was look at the percent of the population that thought the country was going in the wrong direction to know that the voters wanted change. If Harris could not even stand up to her own party, how was she going to stand up to the hostile congress and in foreign policy.

This is basically what I assumed at the time when people were complaining she wasn't differentiating herself from him. Biden is an intensely proud man and not willing to take hits to even help out his own party if that's what, by the cold calculus of politics, was required to win. Few men in his position would. Even withdrawing from the race was a near thing that almost didn't happen.

It's been a week, and a disastrous media tour for Schumer, but not one major Dem has called for Schumer to resign from his failed leadership position. The party is cooked, and deservedly so. This is the future

View attachment 120443

I don't think AOC or Crocket should run for POTUS. Instead Crocket should look to replace Jeffries and AOC should look to replace Schumer.

That way AOC and Crocket set the agenda from Congress..

That would be real change like McConnel has done rather than a presidency that just gets erased by executive orders and stuff.

It's all so heartbreaking. This is where the base needed to be nine years ago. Now it all seems too late.

I think you're going to have to come to terms with it as I have that only about 2-3% of America is actually intelligent and able to critically think. But you need to convince 52-55% with the way the electoral college works.

The Red States and Department of Education has so dumbed down the education requirements that you can't even communicate with large masses of people and when you do try.. it comes across as making fun of them which makes them retreat further into their own camp. (Often what happens on this forum)

If we can't even get through to them here.. how do you think we'll get through to millions that don't even vote and others sold on MAGA.

Answer you need a leader who can talk "dumb" and "angry". Bernie has it. Not many others do.

You're gonna have to do what MAGA did.. hope you can sway a celebrity to do it for you.. *cough* Jon Stewart *cough* or someone like that.
