I built a PC with one of those snowblind cases back in 2019. Pretty cool gimmick. I seem to remember it selling quickly. I bought it really cheap as part of a lightly used prebuilt from a local store that took it in trade and just wanted it gone. It had an 8700k and 1080ti blower card in it. I swapped the CPU and GPU for an 8400 and 2060 and sold it for $100 more than I paid for all of it. Scored a free 1080ti/8700k and still made $100 on the deal. Sorry for the bad pics, it was hard to photograph.

Yeah i really want to play with a snowblind build, but the case is so old style, i dont think i can tollerate it.
I went with the HYTE Y70 because i wanted that vertical GPU for my brother who will get a 5090. I dont want to put tension on the card due to the massive heat sinks we see now, since he doesn't like to do true custom water setup.

I bearly got away with an AIO as it is, as he was hesitant on liquid in general, but i told him a 9800X3D needs it. I lied but he's not the forum type to do research.

My current case will probably stay with me, and thats the Thermaltake Core X9. As its the only case i know that can natively handle 2x480 and have a lot of extra room with a horizontal bed. Meaning the board and GPU's are laid flat and not hanging.

As expensive as my brothers system maybe, i still cant stomach the fact my board + cpu still costs more then his entire setup, and when im done with my build, it will hit mid 4 figures.

15 hours karhu @ ~375mb/s

Can bench light programs @ synced 8800 / 2200
For full y-cruncher bench stability i need to drop down to 8700MT/s

Hello California!

Seems like a really old model. Got it at a clearance price ($46).

Why does it have four (6+2) PCIe connectors? Don't think it can power a modern card with even three PCIe connectors, let alone four.

Now to wait for the 9900X to arrive.

Nice that is a good price.

I completed my upgrade last night.

Still on windows 10 so that booted up right away which was good. The only issue I had was with my Raid array the AMD raid driver newest version wouldn't install. Luckily I was expecting that so I backed up the 2 TB array to an external HDD the night before. I has to delete the array and recreate it that is working fine now and I just need to copy my data back. Also windows activation broke due to the hardware changes so had to reactivate.

The Corsair memory Kit I bought was DOA so also had to swap that for the GSkill kit.

Updated the bios on the motherboard last night and have EXPO on but no PBO yet. Will look to start tweaking maybe tomorrow.

There are different driver versions of some of the chipset components in the chipset driver package, as well as some supposed additional support in Win11, so I wonder how it behaves with thread prioritization. I guess the worst case is its 'unsupported', but if you have any experience I'd love to hear about it.

Yes Win10 seems a bit more finicky, but I don't use Xbox Gamebar, and use the setting of CCPC on Cache setting to prioritizing all initial loads to the 3DVCache CCD.

When more cpu requests are needed or non-gaming loads both CCDs are utilized.

Have gotten my first 9950X3D's, and updated my ST run

R23 ST = 2413 points

R24 ST = 151 points

Also did a 3dmark profiler run tuned for ST

I scored 19 730 in CPU Profile

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 x 1, 32768 MB, 64-bit Windows 11}

Will update all MT runs when i get around to it

CoreTemp 1.19.4 Now shows core temp for Zen5 CPU's and Zen4 ThreadRipper.

Works on X3D as well:

And ThreadRipper 7000 series... although its not Zen5... But will probably work on EPYC as well. @Markfw

We can now see actual core temps on Ryzen now like we did on Intel.

haven't used that app in a long time and will probably still stick to HWINFO but good to see they have updated it.

It's going to be funny checking CoreTemp on a 128 thread CPU. I wonder if it will show a scroll bar or whether the app window will go offscreen into the ground trying to show all those cores

Well, I did col him with testing Turin and Zen 5 I think. Also Zen t and Genoa.

yeah i saw the thread after reviewing it.. im having the same problems as you did on my 7601.
Its cutting off after core 7.

Which to me is wierd, because isn't threadripper suposed to be the same thing as a EPYC?

I never had him test a Naples or Rome. Just Genoa and I think Turin. They are different than Threadripper. Aski him to test it. He will want debug log files. PM him.
