I will say he is telling the truth about being included in the message. I also agree that it is fucked up. It was also obvious that everybody was in cover your ass mode.

As I understood from what I've heard that Signal was an accepted method of encrypted communications and has also been used in past administrations. They need to NOT use this as a communication method in the future. I am glad that nothing bad happened to the mission or its participants.

Not being an authority on the subject, I will say that it is a distinct possibility. Very stupid to have this conversation in the Signal App. More stupid to include a reporter from any news source.

Without a location or subject ( Target Terrorist ) is broad and could be anyone or group. Not sure how useful this information would be. Regardless it should have never taken place.

The rest of the transcript talks about how they are targeting a high value Houthi target. In fact it’s literally the name of the chat group, haha. If the Houthis had been alerted to this they certainly would have their top guys move, mix up their routine, etc.

There is simply no credible way to have a chat that directly states the targeted group, exactly when we are going to hit them, and with what, as anything but war plans.

It is the biggest national security breach I can think of in a long time. At a minimum everyone involved should be fired and some of the participants prosecuted.
