Yeah, but it isn't about what Democrats do or don't do. It's about what Trump and Republicans do or don't do. Democrats can help by tapping into prevailing sentiment, but that's about it. Doesn't really matter though because even if Dems win back control Reps just block any meaningful change and then the public elects Republicans again because Dems aren't fixing anything.The D coalition is kinda primed to do better in these than the Rs now. However the margins were much smaller in the run up to the Presidential in 24. If they are clearing R+20 or +30 districts that is a pretty vivdid warning about what might await next year for Republicans.

My number one priority for Ds if they get another trifecta in 2029 is to pack SCOTUS. Immediately. Voters don't give a fuck about it and its is a prerequisite for any actual durable progress. Conservatives have ruled through the court and there is no reason we can't do the same.

The student loan and immunity rulings should put that in sharp relief for Democrats. If SCOTUS can find a way to invalidate student loan forgiveness despite utterly crystal clear legislative text authorizing it then no law is safe.
