I honestly think that right now is one of if not the best times to buy a used EV. Prices on gently used EVs like the Mach-E are insane. Same for the MY and 3, the Taycan and the Rivians to. Really all of them. It's crazy how many good deals are to be found in the used EV market.I wanted to get a used Mach-E but the wife nixed it.
It was going to be similar money to the UX250h but the badge won...I honestly think that right now is one of if not the best times to buy a used EV. I don't pay too close attention to EVs. What's an old EV? What stage of life is 100k miles? Thinking of the battery here more than anything else.
Tesla is the go to but don't discount the Chevy Bolt and the Nissan Leaf. They both have been around just as long or longer than Tesla. Many older Bolts and Leafs are still on the road today racking up the miles.
I've probably already said it in this thread but the older Chevy Bolts had their batteries replaced due to the LG recall. When the battery was replaced the warranty RESET so 10 years and 100k miles after the replacement. Now that doesn't cover the electric motor but if you are afraid of the battery and want cheap the older bolt is it. They quit replacing the batteries in the newer cars 2019+? so you would want to look up the vin on GM's recall sight to make sure it was replaced.
I'm curious about "vintage" any vehicle from today in 30 years. There is so much electronic horseshit in cars these days it will be hard to keep anything on the road down the line.

Ford was offering a 3 year lease on the F150 Lightning for $399/month. I don't know if their "free level 2 charger and basic installation" is still in effect.
This is nothing to even wonder about.5-year-old Bolts are still going for $20k in my area.
One of the things I wonder about is if Tesla goes bankrupt...the whole thing is crazy connected online & relies on so many cloud services...
Henrik Fisker should buy it and go bankrupt again. This is nothing to even wonder about.
If it ever got that bad for Tesla, there are big enough automakers out there to buy their rotting corpse for pennies on the dollar.
Ordered a BMW i4 M50 yesterday. Delivery is in 2.5 to 3 months. I just hope Trump does not get mad at Germany during that time and fuck up the delivery of my car. Pretty excited about getting it.
I knew I should have bought the M5 wagon. There are less than 20 available in the country.FUCK!!!!! We ordered a top of the line car, something that the dealers around here do not have in stock. SO if we do end up getting a car it will not be exactly what we wanted.
What a dickhead he is!

Leafs are a die-hard design.
Very curious about the "vintage" EV situation 20 to 30 years from now...
I really hope that doesn't happen. I looked up how to disconnect a Chevy Bolt, because otherwise it reports your driving habits to your insurer! They say you can pull one fuse to disconnect from the Internet, and it interferes with connecting to your phone, or do some magic behind the radio and it doesn't even hurt that.I wonder about that too. With a gas car you put in a new battery, new gas, and it will start and run. And zero internet needed. With EVs and how they are so interconnected with the cloud, and have proprietary batteries, it won't be so easy. If it was stored with a battery that's at like 50% charge and the battery disconnect was pulled, the battery will probably be ok but if the internet stuff is dead you may not be able to do anything with the car even if the battery is ok.

You made the right call. I have a 327 in my truck and I LOVE my truck. But as a daily driver it would be a no. It is loud, has manual steering, drum brakes and drinks gas. I call it my anti-Tesla because it is pretty much the exact opposite of an EV. While I love driving it, I can only drive it 3 or 4 times a week. The nostalgia of driving it is awesome, but then when I drive my son somewhere I am getting in the car.A bunch of years ago I came || close to buying 1953 Dodge army truck with a Chevy 327 motor inside to use as a daily driver. Not a bit of network connectivity, but you trade that for always having a wrench in your hand. I'm still not sure I made the right call not getting it.
