My partner and I are looking for places to have our wedding ceremony, the wish list was to have a place on the water, surrounded by trees, with a mountain view. I think we just found a state park that will fit the bill that has a rentable shelter with kitchen, and on the right day you can see Mount Rainier from there. Closed for the winter, so we're going to check it out in April.WA is on my short list of places I'd like to live in the US. ME is #1, and I'm very used to the east coast, but everything I see of WA looks fantastic.

Big fan of outdoor weddings. My wife and i got married in a covered bridge at a state park nearby. I've had sourdough that persisted for a surprisingly long time without molding. Some bread types seem to be more mold-resistant than others.I just pulled out a piece of rye bread that "expired" last September to make toast. It's absolutely fine. Might not make the best untoasted sandwich, but it's doable. The preservatives they use now are remarkable. I usually get "artisan" bread from aldi, and it lasts just about a week. No preservatives at all, and it gets moldy fast. Not sure what to think of this. Bread that keeps for months is just weird.
Something changed with rye bread. It isn't as good as the bread I grew up with. I don't know exactly where the blame goes, but the old rye used to mold in the expected time period; maybe two weeks. The newer rye, aside from way fewer bakers making it, has a different texture; almost spongy, and the flavor isn't as good. My September loaf isn't an anomaly either. That's one reason it lasted so long. Aside from not enjoying it as much as I used to, I left it in the bag in preference of bread that spoils faster, and just didn't get to finishing it in a timely manner.I've had sourdough that persisted for a surprisingly long time without molding.
