Your sentence is a contradictory. Laws also allow things to happen legally. Laws allow you to drive legally, etc.You would be welcome to oppose it but once it becomes legal it will happen, and there’s nothing you can do about it. Laws don’t prevent people from doing things in and of themselves, they provide consequences. You really ought to know this at your age.
You are also assuming something I did not know that to begin
Expressing my opposition should not make you draw that conclusion but indicates my limit of acceptance with said proposal.
