Just a reminder the WSJ is right leaning pro-Trump media. Here were those headlines.

As of Oct 31 they said the next President will inherit a “remarkable economy” When it tanks Trump and the Republicans will be 100% responsible.

Putting this out now to ward off the upcoming bullshit of…….

Normal correction in markets
Biden’s fault
Feds fault
Democrats fault
It was a bad economy when I came into office

I don’t know why people will believe anything he puts out so just want to get a jump on my prediction

Biden left the economy a mess with trillion dollar deficits squandered on bullshit nonsense like transgender studies in Guatemala laundered through USAid.

Meanwhile Americans slept on their cars because we wasted billions importing millions of aliens and put them in fancy hotels.

Right now we are sacrificing for a better tomorrow for our children so they can build things in America for good pay and benefits instead of enriching greedy liberal fat cats who offshored the work to pad the bottom line and do stock buybacks.

It will be a FABA economy. For Americans by Americans.

Stop listening to Fox News.. It's rotting your brain. So lets be clear, Biden left with trillion dollar deficits, even though he reduced the deficit spending, added less to the debt than Trump did his first term. Trump has been pushing for a debt cealing increase to the tune of about $19 trillion, which pretty much indicates he is planning on adding 50% to the current debt, which is a hella lot of deficit spending. Of course he also added 25% to the debt his first term, so that isn't suprising, which was one of the influences of the inflation rising after COVID, (I know you don't want to believe that fact). Yet, not a fucking peep out of your pie hole about any of that.. just your typical brain rot induced bullshit about Biden. Can you explain that? We won't even get into your other points of manipulation, as they have already been discussed multiple times.

Trump raised the deficit by 50% 1st term before Covid hit and you kept your yap shut. Now you want to squawk?

You just made everything up in a post to suck the dick of Donald Trump. You are completely brainwashed and incapable of discerning realiy

Trump said he would fix everything Day 1. People were not told things would go to shit in his first year. Now you are trying to tell people that was all part of the plan? Just listen to yourself

What other thing did we all witness that you are now denying? Oh that’s right, J6 people were patriots. That’s why your God pardoned the cop beaters.

I hope you’re just trolling because otherwise this is indicative of some pretty serious mental illness. You know basically everything you wrote here is a lie, right? Why be so willfully dishonest?

Regardless, you might also want to check out how well Juche is doing for North Korea.

I’m pretty sure Felix suffers from multiple personalities disorder or something similar or perhaps a lapse in medication. Either way, clearly he’s not right in the head. Then again, you probably could say that about any maga head.
Ignore button.

Responding to that type of person only empowers her and causes her to come up with even more nonsense.

Those who respond to those posts are responsible for it at this point for allowing them to at best bring zero valuer to the forum and at worst empower intentional derailment of intelligent/insightful conversation.

You might have a point there.

I was convinced he had almost gotten out of it but still had some core beliefs about a theoretical economy that could work on tariffs and no income tax.. but yeah he's relapsed hard in this thread.

I don't know what set him off and he ran deeper and deeper into the Facebook conspiracy theory rabbit hole.

And the more and more research that I do.. that sort of economy only worked when America had a grand total population of 50 mil back in the 1880's.

I mean if you ignore current facts and numbers.. it does sorta make theoretical sense.. if you only have a 50 mil population.. sure you can manufacture and grow enough crops for them..

But with the current population of 350 million.. that's impossible!

Hell we can't even manufacture jasmine or basmati rice in the USA and only about 5% of the US population needs it.

I haven't even gotten to avocado's which 65% of the US population needs and we can't grow that here.

FFS the people that come up with this stuff don't even know that the US actually IMPORTS wheat.. you know wheat that is used to make bread. And it's from Canada and some even from Ukraine!

@FelixDeCat you need to seriously start blocking off/ deleting/ erasing your info sources that sound more and more like propaganda everyday.. and they actually make you look stupid.

I don't think you're stupid, but it's your choice.. do you wanna think and reason for yourself or you wanna just blindly believe the propaganda and come across as stupid.

Up to you man!

it’s due to years of right wing echo chambers all spouting the same lie to have the appearance of truth. they got their mark.

ignore is a beautiful function. don’t give them a voice by responding to idiots. they will go away on their own with no audience.

While I am not on board with tariffs in that I enjoy cheaply made goods and raw materials so that the small amount of money I have goes further, it is (as they say) "what it is."

Now that we are being led by someone who is doing what he can to bring back manufacturing through a tariff regime and we pretty much must all endure the near term pain as a result until we find ways to deal with it such as sourcing locally, you can either adapt and accept or be miserable the next 3.7 years.

Part of the adaptation process is to see how we could benefit from the upcoming situation and I have outlined what I think may come of it.

I could also list the myriad negatives of tariffs, but it would seem everyone else is already doing that.

Sadly, this is the same kind of thing the righties at "that other place" seem to believe. None of the damage Trump/Musk are doing matters...as long as they pwned the libs. Many of them are cheering on the destruction of America..."just for the lulz."

I think you can fight that propaganda and anger thing with common sense.

If it costs:

1. $250,000 to manufacture a car here vs
2. $150,000 to manufacture a car in mexico and import it
3.$120,000 to manufacture a car in mexico and import it without tariffs..

it's not going to bring manufacturing to the US. Instead most of the tariffs will just be absorbed by consumers and it still won't result in a manufacturing boom.

And you're totally ignoring a manufacturing boom created by Biden which was manufacturing artillery shells and sending them off to Ukraine. And then there's the Chips Act which is basically some very pork barrel congress subsidized stuff like vital stuff like computer chips.

Guess how Trump feels about that.. he's trying to get rid of both and then put on tariffs..

You don't need to be an economics major with a phd in this.. you can use common sense and the whole argument they're selling just falls apart.

Not only that but manufacturing here will still raise costs which in turn will lower demand, which then causes a recession making even thinking about such an investment not a good idea.

Besides, what would be the advantage of bringing manufacturing to the states? More manufacturing jobs? lol most of those jobs would be automated. Having a non automated job force in an environment where building domestically already means higher consumer costs, makes zero sense.

They may bring some manufacturing back to the US but automation, robots and AI will be doing most of the work. Also, if you think tariffs raise prices wait until you pay American workers to make the things you purchase. I've also not heard any talk of raising wages so we can afford these USA made goods. All of this crap is going to lower the standard of living for most US citizens.

Anyone who thinks billionaires have theirs or the US's best interest in mind is a fool. You don't become a billionaire by thinking about anyone but yourself.

Edit: Ivwshane made the same point.
