Guys. Felix doesn't believe this stuff.

Please stop engaging with him like an honest broker.

The arguments are clearly designed to troll, that is the entire global right wing at this point in time.

Once I would have believed that there were those who could argue in good faith, but at this juncture I think we all know what's what.

Biden left the economy a mess with trillion dollar deficits squandered on bullshit nonsense like transgender studies in Guatemala laundered through USAid.

Meanwhile Americans slept on their cars because we wasted billions importing millions of aliens and put them in fancy hotels.

Did you give your stimulus checks back to the government?

Just curious..

I think what you probably find surprising is that someone is trying to find a silver lining in an otherwise hard time to come for all of us.

I have mentioned before that I think that if the economy slows or retracts too much, Don will likely either relent or resort to stimulus payments.

Why?

He doesn't care about the economy. Nor does he care for the Republican Party's future and he's not exactly running for re-election either.

He only cares about 2 things..

1. making money for himself
2. making sure he's POTUS for life

The people who can get through to him will be very few if any.. maybe Musk and family if that!

ignore is a beautiful function. don’t give them a voice by responding to idiots. they will go away on their own with no audience.
If that was true, we wouldn't have the issues in this country we do, with Maga, Trump, etc. . The problem is, when you ignore the lies and let them go without contesting those lies, they build a following of those that believe the lies.

While I am not on board with tariffs in that I enjoy cheaply made goods and raw materials so that the small amount of money I have goes further, it is (as they say) "what it is."

Now that we are being led by someone who is doing what he can to bring back manufacturing through a tariff regime and we pretty much must all endure the near term pain as a result until we find ways to deal with it such as sourcing locally, you can either adapt and accept or be miserable the next 3.7 years.

Part of the adaptation process is to see how we could benefit from the upcoming situation and I have outlined what I think may come of it.

I could also list the myriad negatives of tariffs, but it would seem everyone else is already doing that.
Do you even understand why companies moved manufacturing out of this country? What Trump is doing will do nothing to bring manufacturing back in any meaningful way. If you understood why most of it went over seas in the first place, you would know this. On top of that, even if manufacturing did come back in any meaningful way, it would take 5 to 10 years to rebuild the infrastructure for it to be even plausable.

how can you claim "trying to find a sliver lining" when it's based off of lies, misinformation, and lacking any understanding of the economy? Why would Trump issue stimulus payments, when crashing the economy is his goal. Besides, by even suggesting that Trump would issues stimulus payments shows us you really don't care about deficit spending, debt, or inflation as you have tried to argue. You are nothing more than a liar.

We will not benefit from it, as nobody is going to buy a made in America good for 3x the price of the even post-tariff price. It's absurd.

We are a consumer society now, we rely on cheap labor from other countries to get the stupid bullshit we want to buy. We are not, are never, going to make the vast majority of what we consume.

Small and only exception I can think of to that is Can Openers.

But that manufacturing facility is already here and has existed from the times of Obama!

He is definitely drunk with power thats for sure.

Drunk on delusions of grandeur too!

He is stuck in a 1890-1950's mindset. The US escaped the world wars unscathed, while Europe and Japan were decimated, and SE Asia was dominated by farming.

But that world does not exist anymore. And something else many of those countries now have, that we don't, are excellent school systems, teaching math and science at high levels.

Did you know a Chinese or Indian 8th grade student can do what a college student does in the US with ease? Why the heck do you think there are so many Indian and Asian CEO's in fortune 500 companies? But this administration has no interest in an educated America.

Bottom line is he's good at selling stuff.. but so are snake oil's salesmen. You don't know you've been conned till long ways after when the damage to the heart and wallet are done!

they will do that regardless on idiot friendly websites. no reason this site has to be one. it would be one thing if the conservative posters here were actually educated and just arguing the other side in good faith, but thats not the case here. they are all infected with brain rot from their echo chamber trying to argue different “facts” than we have.

Nobody who is confronting their lies is doing it in the spirit of being friendly. It's to keep them from gaining followers from spreading their lies. Ignoring them, will help them gain followers, not prevent it. Have you not been paying attention? If people actually stopped avoiding calling theassholes out for their lies, or rather didn't turn the otherway and ignore the lies, MAGA, Trump and all the other liars would have never gained any traction. But because people like you, think if you ignore them, it will go away. Not realizing that you are silently approving of their lies, allowing them to grow bigger and more dangerious... and here we are, well into the dangerous reprocutions of people ignoring them.

I am not saying ignore ALL conservatives. Just the ones who have been in P&N for years and are just as ignorant today as they were a decade ago. You are wasting your time with them. I dont think we have a legit free thinking conservative member who posts here in good faith and has learned anything from us over the years. Id love to be wrong.

How long do you think it takes for auto manufacturers to build factories and set up supply chains?

Ask that crazy United Autoworkers Union the same question. They seem to think anything is possible as they are in hog heaven right now.
Point is, is that the tariffs are unlikely to bring manufacturing back to the US because setting up factories and supply chains will probably take longer than his term. I suppose if he gets that president for life designation this could all work out.
