Because if you stop and really pay attention, ignoring them is what has helped allow their ideology filled with lies to gain traction and grow to what it is today bringing us MAGA, Trump, ETC. It's also ICE detaining European visitors because they look dodgy and people are cancelling planned holidays in the US.
Around places like Niagara Falls in NY, its reported to be a ghost town. Canadians used to travel cross border to shop but not any more. Duty Free shops are barely registering a sale.

I think that number is going to incease, as there are many Canadians who want to cancel trips (personal and/or business), but unable to do so, be it lack of refunds or business related reasons that prevent them from just cancelling outright. The real damage will show up in the next few months when new bookings/events/etc are not made, rather than just looking at what most likely majority consisting of current cancellations.No it's part of their plan.. they told everyone there would be pain.
