AMD is hedging their bets with server/data center as main focus along with trying to capture ai market share. I imagine zen 6 focus is server first focus? Desktop is distant second thought.

first reviews of 9955HX vs 275HX

275HX does surprisingly well neck to neck but X3D will seal the deal

Hey, Dell finally started to show the (dumb) Dell branded products that have AMD. Even the Intel models start over a grand so it's largely academic for any kind of real comparison. But FWIW Dell is charging an extra $155 to go from the 2+4 Hawk Refresh to the 4+4 Strix Point.

I don't think a desktop part belongs inna tablet.
It could be a tablet with a docking station. It would run at 15 to 25W in tablet mode and in docking mode, it can switch into full blast mode. There would need to be exposed heatsink metal on the backside for this work so that heat can dissipate into the docking station's bigger heatsink with more powerful fans.

you're not sticking a desktop part into a tablet.

Out of which IOD would eat away 10W? Your friend did the power scaling tests on engineering samples of desktop Zen5 parts, running them down so much doesn't make sense. Use Halo instead. It's not like at 30W any nVidia GPU would be able to do better.

Ow. Yeah, didn't think about that. Guess 25 to 35W then. That tablet would be mostly for plugged in gaming. Take it for handheld gaming on trips when a power outlet won't be available easily.
Why would you want a token, 1 WGP iGPU product for that? Just go Strix Halo.

Fire Range X3D is great for gaming..... with a dGPU. How does a dGPU fit into your tablet idea?

Some thought this day would never this day: Dell commercial PC with AMD processors.

So far, I see:
- mid range CoPilot with Kracken CPU (Ryzen 350)
- lower range with Hawk Point (Ryzen 220)
- a Threadripper (!!!) workstation.
- Micro Mini PC desktop (Phoenix)
- Tower desktop (Phoenix)

Here is the Kraken version. All of the laptops have a ship date of April 24.

I went through the list of 12 "Pro" laptops, and 5 of 12 are now AMD based:
(hopefully formatting will work)

1. Dell Pro 14 Inch Laptop with AMD Ryzen Processor | Dell United States
2. Dell Pro 14 with AMD Ryzen AI Pro | Dell United States
3-6 Intel
7. Dell Pro 13 Plus 2-in-1 Laptop with AMD Ryzen | Dell United States
8. Dell Pro 16 Inch Laptop with AMD Ryzen Processor | Dell United States
9.-11 Intel
12 Dell Pro 16 with AMD Ryzen Processor | Dell United States

Additionally, there are 2 desktop form factors and 1 workstation (Threadripper).

So the entire selection of AMD commercial PCs is now on Dell web site.

Actualy they sold some cheap Phoenix 2 laptops last year, but that was surely quite marginal quantities.

Edit : I noticed that they lost 15-20% of their marketshare due to sticking exageratly to Intel, at some point money talk.

Inspiron is their consumer line, and those have been around for some time. The "Pro" is their commercial line of PCs, and this is brand new. It seems like announcement is coming imminently.

I just randomly discovered these new commercial listing on Dell web site, with availability date of April 24

I edited my post, their marketshare went downhill, hence this U turn.
