I will always believe opposite of whatever he said 🤣MLID said today that Intel stopped producing B580 already.
Thanks to the new DirectX Cooperative Vectors API, we can directly use AI hardware and speed up the computation by up to a factor of 10 on Intel® Arc™ (B series) GPUs.
Big die of Battlemage is not looking good. Latest ES was poorly done, it's not ready. Mid 2025 is still possible but don't be surprised if it is canceled.
It died in Q3 but was revived in December many people don't know that
This don’t sound like we’re talking about GPUs but about instead about dungeons and dragonsIt died in Q3 but was revived in December many people don't know that
Dungeons and Dragons takes inspiration from Intel. This don’t sound like we’re talking about GPUs but about instead about dungeons and dragons
They have no choice - consumer GPU market can barely sustain 2nd player, nevermind 3rd. They should license AMD's iGPUs and be done with it.Now a new CEO is here, I will reiterate that Intel should NOT abandon their client dGPU efforts.
No need to license AMD iGPU IP when you have invested so much into yours it's not like their arch is bad it's the half baked drivers and software that is the issue. They have no choice - consumer GPU market can barely sustain 2nd player, nevermind 3rd. It's sunk money, total failure and AMD needs more scale for their Radeon group so licensing iGPU to Intel is no brainer. It's the only rational way out that is best for both Intel and AMD.No need to license AMD iGPU IP when you have invested so much into yours it's not like their arch is bad it's the half baked drivers and software that is the issue.
It's not sunk money though Intel Xe2 arch is good Xe1 was a letdown but I can't say that about Xe2 and Xe3 is supposedly even bigger change than Xe1 -> Xe2.It's sunk money, total failure and AMD needs more scale for their Radeon group so licensing iGPU to Intel is no brainer. This is a scalper issue everyone is affectedYou still can't find a B580 at retail price, I see a lot but they're all still $350+, some $450 which is stupid. I really wanted one but 5 months in I have officially given up.
The perf per transitor is not poor performance per area is it's all due to the fact of them using HP Libs and bigger Metal tracks 🤣I think it's easy to see their obvious driver problems and conclude that is their only weakness. And without competent drivers they have to sell low.
However, the last time I looked into this their perf/area and perf/transistor was really poor. For dGPUs perf/transistors is absolutely crucial.

Lack of availability because they did not make many since they are losing money on them, it's total waste of otherwise good wafers. They can't stay the course as there is zero prospect they will make any money from dGPUs in market dominated by Nvidia.Battlemage has been a huge leap forward for Intel. The lack of availability has been a problem. Intel is positioned to take a bite out of Nvidia's 90% market share if they stay the course moving forward.
I tend to think that it's Intel not making any chips. Looking at stock trackers like nowinstock, the B580 has less frequent restocks. Is it still due to scalpers, or is it Intel isn't making many chips? I find it hard to believe almost half a year after release there's still people willing to pay $350+. I mean obvious the cards that are $350-500 are scalpers, but I never see Intel or Asrock cards in stock for retail. All the expensive ones I see are Chinese brands like Gunnir. Which makes me think Intel & Asrock basically aren't making any cards. Even at a foolish stupid $490 I'm only seeing 1 Asrock Steel Legend card anywhere. The scalper cards are probably mostly old cards that aren't moving much, and new cards don't seem to ever pop up anymore.
I used to at least get a message from Newegg about the card being in stock, yeah it would be out of stock by the time I checked. But I'm not even getting those anymore.
