Since they only have 4 models, it's basically "mainstream" and "luxury" vehicles. Turns out that people with a lot of money to spend don't want to buy swasticars (either the truck or sports car version).

I think it really depends on how long elmo remains CEO of Tesla.
They setup to mass produce the CT in high volume. The fact that demand isn't there means they have wasted a lot of capital on setting up high volume production lines. They need to pivot away from the CT and produce a pickup that looks like a regular pickup. Maybe something that is comparable to the Ford Ranger. However this would mean elmo having to admit he was wrong......

They never disclosed it but the entire capital investment is said to be north of two billion dollars.

Either a small regularish truck or a small affordable car (where the Chinese are absolutely killing them).

Elon is designated as a Special Government Employee (SGE) which is limited to 130 days in a year. Most likely they will use that as an excuse to ditch him. If he wasn't getting so much blowback I am guessing they would completely ignore that rule.
