Per Reuters:
U.S. ANNOUNCED JOB CUTS TOTAL 275,240 IN MARCH, RECORD HIGH FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH: CHALLENGER

More job cuts in March 2025 than March 2020 - the first month when US COVID lockdowns started.

We achieved the soft landing then turned over the controls to Trump who immediately crashed the plane into the terminal.
Our decadent society decided it was bored and thought there would be no consequences for touching all the stoves.

(Decadence, almost best defined as people so far removed from actual hardships, that they can push for insane positions like not being vaccinated and think these types of choices come with no consequences).

I think this is a sad but underrated explanation for this disaster. Things were going pretty well in America and they were pretty boring.

I believe it's also a good explanation for the extreme media bias against Biden - why were 'storm clouds' perpetually on the horizon for the economy? Because nobody cares to read a story about how the economy is humming along just fine and not much is changing.

any idea what percentage of that is the DOGE federal workforce firings?

Which MAGAs are 100% behind, by their logic across the board government workers are lazy and need to fired. So they're blindly blindly behind Musk randomly killing entire departments and think what he's doing is great for the country.

Musk could go on to fire everyone with a government job and Trump could add 10 trillion to the deficit and the cult will cheer at how great both of them are doing. Our country's rapidly sinking in the shitter with these 2 in charge, and MAGAs are ready for Trump to bomb Canada because they refuse to become the 51st state lol.

I think @Greenman has me on ignore but I would be genuinely interested to hear him explain why his vote was a good one.

I can’t think of a bigger catastrophe in my lifetime and that includes 9/11. More importantly this was entirely self-inflicted.

I say this with the utmost respect for people who voted differently than me: you people deserve the electric chair.

I think he is some regular guy who sits at home watching Fox News.

The problem for him is his political sports team has turned into a bunch of know nothing Nazis. Admitting that is too hard so he just bunkers.

Excellent analogy. With this government we are back in the bad old days of aviation safety when the captain ruled with an iron fist and the first officer was basically powerless, and planes crashed way more often, because this negates the “two heads are better than one” feature that works so well with modern crew resource management.

He selected two total sycophantic yes men in Lutnick and Bessent that were subserviently confirmed by the Senate, and Vance has no say either, so our whole country is riding on one unstable idiot. I guess the founding fathers counted on the people not to elect such and the guardrails they put in for a competent and decent president are insufficient in this case, even before they were removed.

I think the Founding Fathers would be surprised we even made it this far.
