I had this issue shortly after I built this PC a few years ago after which a month-long diagnostic revealed that the motherboard (ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E) and PSU (EVGA SuperNova 1000W Platinum) were faulty and I managed to get those replaced. I've had a few little issues here and there since then, a few random crashes, my old 4K monitor died, and just an overall bad experience with this PC, but it was working. Last week, I was playing Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord and during one of the sieges, the entire PC just shut down and restarted like it overheated. I checked the logs and none of my temps were anywhere close to alarming. So I've been keeping Armoury Crate running while playing games just to keep an eye on temps and everything looks normal, but the crashing is becoming more frequent again. So far in the last month, it's crashed once in Escape From Tarkov, a handful of times in Bannerlord, once in Borderlands 2, and once in Binding of Isaac.

I'm honestly completely out of ideas on this one. I've never built a new PC within ten years of building a previous one, but at this point, I don't even want to use this one since it's so inconsistent with the crashing. The only consistency is that it crashes after I've been playing a while which makes me think it's a temperature issue. I do live in the desert and I have pets so the filters build up with dust and pet hair, but I clean them regularly and haven't noticed any issues with any of my fans.

Could also be outdated Driver

PSU that starts to lose Power after a while.

Problem with RAM

Damage in file/files of the game.

Sudden trouble with the Internet connection.

You can also download this free portable stress program, and run it.

Are you running Windows 10 or Windows 11?
Windows 11

All drivers are up to date, but since I've had this issue before, I'm hoping it's just a bad GPU driver. I'll try rolling it back and see if that helps.

I should have stated above that I've already tried reseating the RAM and booting with individual sticks. This isn't something I can replicate just yet as it seems to happen at random. The first time I had this issue, my PC first restarted at first launch and then I was able to swap out older hardware and get it to only restart after about 30 minutes of playing. I've never heard of internet connections causing a reboot. Can you elaborate on that one?

As for stress testing, I have Prime95. Would you recommend the Jam-Software over Prime?

I have suspicions that it could be a Windows 11 build/update issue that is causing your computer to randomly shut down and restart. I am on AMD but it may affect Intel builds the same way. Are you running Windows 11 24H2? Microsoft always fixes their bugs in Windows 11. Some updates cause instability issues. It's not your fault because your system automatically updates or is forced to accept windows updates.

Yup.
Windows 11
Version 24H2
Build 26100.3476
I think it may be a 24H2 issue. I am running a Zen 3 system that was bullet proof. I have had some phantom restarts for no reason since installing 24H2. Since you are on Intel, it may not just be an AMD issue with 24H2. I am guessing it's a 24H2 issue. I even did a clean Windows 11 24H2 install. Same issues as before.

Is there a version I can roll back to for testing or am I stuck with this for the moment? I've never tried to downgrade OS versions before.

When I read that the PC just shuts down I Automatically think hardware issue like PSU or motherboard. But in your case with the 13900 I wonder if you have some degradation. You could try limiting the frequency, maybe try 5.0GHz just for a quick test.

I'll try that as well. I'm guessing this can be done in the BIOS?

You’ve tried a lot already. Rolling back the GPU driver is worth a shot—bad updates can cause random crashes. The 24H2 issue is real, I’ve seen similar problems, so rolling back to an earlier build could help. Also, limiting the CPU to 5.0GHz in BIOS is a good move to check for stability.

This. If reducing the clockspeed like that results in stability, RMA it and get a replacement. They will send you a 14900 series. Before RMAing, make certain you are running the latest bios for your board as it includes the mitigations. That way you start off with a new CPU and a clean slate.

I am sticking by my conclusion that it has something to do with windows 11 24H2. The reason is I am experiencing the same problem. Running totally stock and when idling it just shuts down every few days. Not during gaming but during idle time. My guess is the many updates to fix the 24H2 bug have caused instability in AMD and Intel systems. My Zen 3 system just crashed while in sleep mode. Crazy stuff.
On my 5700x. Gaming was horrific with weird behavior and stuttering, dropped frames and other anomalies. That ended in a recent update a few weeks back. The mystery reboot crashes started to appear much more frequently. Usually every few days. Never when gaming or doing anything intensive. It's a 24H2 issue.

Microsoft will release more patches to remedy their 24H2 issues. If you are patient, a windows update fix will be released eventually.
