I don't need more MREs, but I'm gonna keep an eye on the listing. If it drops to ≤$100, I might buy a couple more cases. Shit, at ~$4.20/meal, I could buy a few cases and give them to homeless people.
$99 for two cases. I'm really tempted to buy some more. Had an mre for lunch today. Heater didn't work, so I had to eat it cold, but it was alright. Tacos! Well, sort of. It's the military representation of tacos. Just requires a little imagination! :^D

Well, got another 2 cases of mres coming. Next target is $80. If it gets ≤ to that, I guess I'll have to buy some more. If I wait long enough, maybe they'll pay me to take them :^D

Dollar General doesn't have complete meal kits guaranteed to survive being dropped 100' from a helicopter. Nor do they include heaters. In fact, DG is pretty shit all around. The dollar store that isn't. Only time I go in one is when I need something at work, and they might have it(they usually don't), because it's all that's around.

That's a factor. I don't *need* a power bank atm, but it might be useful when the war starts. Not sure how to parse the metric fuckton of bullshit going on now, and don't know exactly what I need.
Ended up getting a 1kw power station. It's cheaper than the Kenwood I was looking at, and provides more power on paper, but it's a Die Hard™, and that means fuck all. Some company bought the name and made the box in China. I'm sure the Kenwood's Chinese too, but it's a real brand, and the company has skin in the game. so they'd hopefully make(tell the Chinese to make, and actually check) a good product, so their name isn't tarnished.

Still not sure what I'm gonna do with it. I have a gas powered generator, but the battery box would be easier to leave unattended. Maybe a major power outage. I could use it to power the fridge, and leave the gas for the sump pump. The solar panel I can use at work. It's highly questionable, but it is usable. Instead of buying a new battery for the gun, and swapping it out, I can setup a solar panel on the job to keep the battery charged. It's really only good for when I'm taking lots of shots, and the gun won't be moving, but it's a use, and I'll have it for other stuff. Solar is almost like magic. Free energy any time the sun shines, and even a little bit when it doesn't. It's like having an engine you can start up any time, that doesn't use gas.

I always thought it would be cool to live in a super small town like that, would have a really cool tight knit feel to it and probably super easy going. Probably super cheap living too, I can't imagine the taxes would be very high in a place with only a few 100 people. Ideally it would just be an unorganized township at that point really.
If you lived in Southern Missouri you would be endlessly ridiculed for having long hair. People would shout a word at you that rhymes with "maggot" at you for no reason, and then when they learned you were from Canada, you would be constantly told how much better America is than Canada and how you should go back to Canada and get out of here.

I have very little concept of "Missouri". It's like "Where is that again?" and "What do they do there?", but my gut feeling is it's just a misspelling of "Misery", and best viewed in the rearview mirror.

Hung my laundry outside, and it started raining. It wasn't unexpected, but it's still annoying. I have too many dirty clothes to wait, and I want to use the same ones for playing in the mud next week, so I'm not fucking up everything I own.

My dryer doesn't have many more dries left in it. It's pretty much just taking up room. I've always favored hanging clothes to dry, but after the dryer started going up, I do it all the time. Haven't used a dryer in... 5 years? It's been awhile. It usually isn't a problem, but we've had shit weather for a week now, and I don't want to use all my clothes in the mud. Otherwise, I'd just wait til the weather's good for drying clothes.

The entire population of Missouri dedicates their lives to making walnut bowls. There is a place there called "Branson" which is kind of like the uruk-hai spawning pits of Orthanc for country music.

Just need to do a big power bank like I did. Go big or go home. Not very portable though...

That's for my servers but also doubles as SHTF backup. In a multi day outage I'd shut down the servers and run the fridge, freezer and other important stuff off that. I do have solar and a generator that could then be used to top up the batteries.

When I moved here and got my license, the lady handed me the temporary one (no, they can't print them at the DMV here for some absurd reason) and said "Welcome to misery!"

My laundry got dry(ish)! Good enough. Glad I got it done to get ready for next week.

In other news, I hurt my finger punching the food in my freezer :^D My freezer is way overstuffed. I had a foodslide trying to fit more food in the freezer, flipped out, and punched everything into place. It worked, but I have concerns about one of the meat pies that took a couple good hits.

I don't have ATOT money, so I've been having to save up so I'll be able to afford a home theater build this summer. I wasn't even factoring in the tariffs because I want speakers from Norway. But I was totally unaware Trump's tariffing the whole damn planet. This will add $1.5k to my budget which means no home theater setup this summer unless I wait 2 additional months, or get it this summer but from a white van box speaker guy I run into in a mall parking lot.

MUTHAFUCK YOU TRUMP! It's not his fault I don't have money or decent credit so I have to do everything in cash. but still eff Trump!

Which makes me wonder, I can't remember the last time I saw a guy in a white van trying to sell me speakers in a random parking lot. I used to always run into them. I wonder where they all went.

So all summer I'll be watching movies on a non Atmos soundbar with only DTS:X

If I'm not mistaken there's no tariffs for Canada anymore but he flips flops so much I have no idea what's going on anymore. But might be worth checking to see if there's anything from here. Even if it was made in China, but ships from Canada, it would be a way around the tariffs I think?

But surely there must be some good systems made in USA?

As a side note I have been approached by the white van before, it was pretty funny and random actually, van just pulls up in front of me while I'm coming out of the grocery store. "Wanna buy a home surround sound system?". I said no thanks and they rolled off.

There are 2 good American made hifi brands, 1 is so expensive it hurts me to even think about the price. And the other gets their components from China, so I'm imagining they'll he upping their prices, and they're already in the upper end up of mid range. The brand I want (Arendal) is direct to consumer so nowhere will sell it. But I do have 1 other brand on my list so looking into Canada sounds like an idea.

Although I'm sure Trump will throw a temper tantrum by the time I'm ready and the tariffs from Canada will be back in effect. I'm just gonna expect to pay at least 20% more. Even when the tariffs don't work out like he expects I don't see him going back because he can't admit he was wrong. And all the MAGAs are telling me this will be good for the country, which confuses the shit out of me. Because things were cheaper under Biden and all they did was whine about how they can't afford shit. Now they can somehow afford to pay more with tariffs, and not whine about it?

Holy shit! I just went to the site. It's $12/brick. That's $5 more than the MREs at full price($85/case), and 250 calories short. Also, it's only one thing to eat instead of a few things. Hope you're in the mood for brick, cause that's all you're getting! :^D

I'll give them one thing. I bet they pass the helicopter test. You could probably drop them from LEO, and they'd come out alright :^D
