All I know is the left wing enviro facists attempted to take over the country by eliminating our back yard BBQs, lawn mowers, ceiling fans, gas stoves, etc., etc, etc. They love taking freedom away from us.

Well, if we're just making shit up ... you should be able to do better than this. At least, with all the practice you've had.

Wikipedia is full of nonsense. For example, they claim fascism is only a "right wing" phenomenon. Yet, when you have things like environmental fascism such as forcing everyone into an EV by 2030, that does not seem to count.

That's a pathetically simplistic interpretation not only of "fascism" and environmentalism but even of the wikipedia article on the topic, which says a _lot_ more than simplistically saying it's "only a right wing phenomenon".

It even (correctly) mentions it has some small overlaps with the left, and some left-wing elements in its origins, before explaining pretty exhaustively why it is traditionally and most commonly considered a right-wing phenomenon (despite its small bits of overlap with leftism).

These things are always damn complicated. There absolutely _are_ fascist forms of environmentalism, but using the state to try and accelerate a shift to electric vehicles, for the good of all, is not one of them.

Wikipedia has moderators, Trump wants to erradicate that web since he want to hide the truth, the issue? it will damage Chat GPT and AI motors.

forcing??

Can't you can still buy Hummers if you want to go the gas guzzling route..

I mean it'll cost you at the pump but you can still buy them!

Or is that fascism that gas guzzlers require you to buy too much gasoline so that's fascism? Is that it??

Fair enough. I haven't read the article in a few years. There are heated discussions in the talk section IIRC. This is what peaked my interest back around 2020.

AI has so much garbage sometimes. I was watching a video about dinosaurs on YouTube a year or so ago. It was painful to watch.

It seemed to be narrated by Gomer Pyle, used the wrong inflection for sentences (every other sentence was just part of the video but the AI made it sound like a question or supposition).

But the worst part was the clear factual errors. Lots of AI generated content had factual errors. I make it a point to avoid them.

The plan was to phase out ICE by 2030, led by states such as California which had planned to ban their registration by that year. Leaving no alternative but to leave the state if you wanted ICE.

Let's rephrase this for past mandates protested by the right-wing, shall we?
The plan was to phase out lead in gasoline by 1996, led by states such as California which had planned to ban it's sale by that year. Leaving no alternative but to leave the state if you wanted to breath in lead.
The plan was to phase out pollution spewing cars without catalytic converters by 1975, led by states such as California which had planned to ban their registration by that year. Leaving no alternative but to leave the state if you wanted to choke to death with smog lung attacks.
The plan was to phase out indoor smoking by 1995, led by states such as California which had planned to ban indoor smoking by that year. Leaving no alternative but to leave the state if you wanted force others to breath in your cigarette smoke.

EVERY SINGLE FORWARD STEP WE MAKE is protested by the regressive right because they are puppets for corporate robber barons.

Of course it will be used for the worse, the issue is that Wikipedia still have humans. What they need to do is asking for a representation to moderate correctly the site. Simple as that.

Two of my favorites are seatbelt and helmet laws. Oh, the fascism.

What's this, are you competing with your idol to see how can come out with the most ridiculous statement?

I mean, he has you beat hands down but it's clear that you're preaching the same gospel of BS.

Should I dig up videos of people complaining about seatbelt laws and laws against drinking and driving?

Hey a few drinks relaxes the body so when there is an accident you're more flexible and won't be injured as badly. If you're locked into a seatbelt it's a death sentence because your body doesn't naturally move with the accident.

For new vehicle sales. Which is vastly different from "all vehicles in the state of California ".

You may as well argue against emissions laws in general at that point by complaining that the government won't let you pollute so much anymore.

There is, though, a credible argument that says when drivers have seat-belts they are less careful about their driving. And while the seat-belt more-than-compensates for this with regard to the drivers themselves, it can actually increase the risk to those outside the vehicle.

That's the same logic that says the best safety-feature would be a big metal spike sticking out of the centre of the steering wheel. And that instead of crumple-zones and airbags, you want cars that will completely-and-instantly disintegrate if they hit a pedestrian, leaving the pedestrian unharmed but the car (and it's driver?) a write-off. I sometimes lean towards that logic, not entirely sure.

I honestly drove without them for years. Still do occasionally. In 2005 I was driving a 1993 Mercedes Benz 190E which I had restored.

I was driving in the slow lane doing about 53 mph. I saw someone driving on the shoulder with their blinkers doing about 15 mph. I looked down for a split second and at the exact same time he suddenly pulled onto the highway in front of me. My car clipped his, he spun out, bounced off another lady who was also on the shoulder and wound up back on the freeway facing oncoming traffic.

I wasn't wearing a seat belt. All three cars were totaled. The Mercedes was built like a tank and nobody was injured (although they both later claimed injuries).

Thankfully insurance paid for everything, which was over $82,000 in today's money.

Yes, because as you know, when fascists take over a country, their first target is control of BBQs and Lawnmowers.

Not media and communications, or whatever government that is left, or the legal system, or the education system, or the Military.

So Trump is totally not a Fascist Dictator, because he hasn't come for your BBQ.

/s Because I fear some would actually think that makes total sense.
