Thank you everyone for your excellent responses.
Budget: Not too important, as someone mentioned relative to overall cost it isn't much. That said, I would still like to get a better bang for the buck.
OC: I agree, I won't overclock this since it is for work. I will however run this on...

But wont be as stable and the price of the system would drop a lot soon because in this next year we are going to have a lot of new mobos for conroes. Nothing at the moment seems like a solid build.
I might have a quad gpu set up one day, i already have 8 HDDs and probably going to get upto 12 HDDs in the future. So I think the Silencer 750 is more future proof.
After getting frustrated for almost 1.5 months try to build a conroe.
I have decided that I am going to wait for the Conroe Prices to drop even more most of all hopefully more stable motherboards and better motherboards should be coming out. One option is to wait two months but I have though...
I dont got a lot of patience, I have just been researching my ass off looking for the right parts, but you are right I cannot wait to experience the full goodness of core 2 duo.
dude you were not offensive at all, its my bad for confusing you and buggin you guys with a bunch of posts full of questions. anyways gonna wait 1-2 months and see what comes out. I already waited 2 months now, so might as well wait a little longer.
Sorry for the confusion man, here is the thing I actually already have a TT armor which I bought for my bros, I am selling the whole system so i can build my bros a conroe system for gamind. Anyways TT armor was quite good and solid. They like the case so I am going to be building another conroe...
Which one of these heatsinks would best fit the DFI Infinity 975X/G and give me the best performance in a Lian Li PC-V2100PlusII case. Money is not a factor, i am just concerned about the fit and performance.
I have read countless reviews and following are the heatsinks which I think are the...
Here is a link to the case, and I have drawn arrows to show the airflow orientation. Blue - air entering, Red - air leaving.
I hoping to still keep the system pretty low noise by using lower rpm fans.

I will be adding...
bro the aw9d-max also has the heatpipes and i spoke the abit tech and they said the same thing as the asus tech did that the motherboard will heat up upside down.
well i am definitely going to be overclocking. may be not to the extreme but for sure i will overclock.
in that case would you suggest the other option.
I have been looking at aw9d-max and that looks real good.
Is aw9d-max board really that much better then the asus p5w dh or its just hype?
I am tired of waiting so what do you guys think wait another week or two for the aw9d-max of just pick up a p5w dh
I need your guys' help on choosing.
I really like the p5w dh, it has all the features i am looking for but the only thing is that it cannot be installed upside down because of the heat pipes, and thats what the case which I am interested it requires. The problem is that I have a lot of HDDs...
I am about to purchase this motherboard, and I would greatly appreciate if I can get some advice on what problems to expect with this board. Following is a list of my parts I will be using. The only thing which I already bought is the Video Card, besides that if you think of better parts then...
Also i am thinking that the new asus with 590 chipset are probably going to have the same design for the heat pipe, so I more interested in the new DFI boards with 590 chipset.
If any one has any input on when the new DFI board is going to be out I would greatly appreciate that.
Well after reading for over 100 hours I finally made my final decision on all the parts.
Lian Li PC-V2100PlusII
P5W DH Deluxe
E6600
eVGA 7950 GX2
Corsair 2G PC6400
2.5 TB (already have the HDDs)
SI-128 or Scythe Infinity
Silencer 750 EPS12V (PS from PC Power & Cooling)
Well the...
This is some really good mem, fast with very low timing, the voltage is kinda on the high side but again its very fast.

Any ways you guys think that it is worth spending almost $200 more on DDR-1000 then DDR2-800.
thanx Howard,
Kool I will look move sythe ninja to top of my list and as far as installing I have installed dozens of heatsinks, many different types so that shouldnt really be a problem
thankx
I am going to run a single monitor, 37" Westy LVM-37W3 @ 1920x1080, may be later on down the road I might get another W3, probably when they are like $1000 in 1-2 years.
I'd prefer a single card running at well the highest setting I can push. Out of the mid range cards I am definitely leaning towards the x1900xtx but the 7950 is what I think I really need though.
Thanks for the input, yah i have been coming across the ram compatibility a lot recently, i probably am going to end up ordering the same ram as yours or may be the pc8500
Does the 701 bios work with e6600 or do we have to flash?
Thanks, inputs from experts is always nice, ME was my second choice but I ended up in Biochem.
Anyways back to the topic, I have always used nVidia can you please tell me which features on ATI cards are you talking about that make it a better buy.
And another nice fellow from other board...
The benchmarks are a little confusing because the results across diff expert reveiws dont really agree with each other. Anyways it does seem that if not a little te 7950 does significantly out perform the x1950xtx and I would rather get a card for $520 and be able to run the games smoothly @...
hmm
http://images.dailytech.com/nimage/2259...e_ati_radeon_x1950_vendor_supplied.png
looking at those results is confusing because they are running ATI?s Radeon X1950XT in CrossFire vs. NVIDIA?s Quad SLI.
since i am not going to be running a quad sli or crossfire because that is just...
I havent really seen any benchmarks for X1950XTX but the price is going to be around $450 so it is cheaper then the 7950 GX2. So u think that X1950XTX will give me more bang. Since I am running high res (1920x1080) I will probably buy the high end card.
I have been reading for days and cannot come to a conclusion. Everyother board I check out there are arguments about if DX10 cards are going to be worth gettin in the early quarter or not, so please give me some input and tell me what you guys think.
I am building a new system, components...
I am considering the following setup, this is going to be my entertainment system w/ 37" Westy @ 1920x1080. I definitely want to push my E6600 probably on air and I will be gaming a lot as well. I will have a lot of HDD's hooked up to it.
Which mobo in yout guys opinion going give me the...
Thanks for the input,
Hmm I will look further into the OCZ incompatibility with the P5W, and to be honest I have always used corsair and was very happy but I guess just wanted a change.
