Finally got all my parts - went with the Phanteks evolv mATX, but the length of the GPU is proving problematic...
-Can’t mount the fans outside or the front cover won’t fit
-Bottom fan wont fit between GPU and radiator
Could I just use a single fan on this front radiator?
I saw the Air 540 in person, very nice case but too bulky for my space. I need to stick to matx or mid-tower ATX .. Define S is roughly the same size as my Carbide 500R, which is OK but would like to downsize, if possible.
I'm leaning towards the Evolv mATX case and then see what I can do with...
If it can fit everything, I'd like to to go mATX: Phanteks Evolv mATX with TG + mATX ROG 270G motherboard. worried about clearance between GPU and front radiator. My 1080Ti is 298mm long while the case can accommodate maximum GPU of 319mm. That's only 2cm of clearance. Is that too little? These...
Thanks, that Nano S sure looks cool! Don't need to go as small as ITX but I'll check it out. I've been eyeing the Phanteks Evolv mATX with TG paired with the mATX ROG 270G motherboard, then I'll need to get the ekwb parts. It's all adding up! :)
My Poseidon 1080 Ti came in and I need to build the rest of my rig.. thinking of a 7700k and 32GB of Gkill DDR4. Motherboard will be Asus, was considering the Maximus IX Extreme;
For the case I prefer a mid-tower such as Corsair 460 RGB - can I go even smaller while water cooling my 7700k +...
Well it's already on the way so need to make the best of it :D
I'm just waiting til those new motherboards come out, yet to decide on a case. Will check out XSPC as well, thanks for the recommendation!
I'm about to join the club.. Ordered an Asus 1080 Ti Poseidon, originally as an upgrade to my 1070 but upgrade replacement bug hit, suddenly I want to replace the rest of my rig and do a whole new water cooling set up with ekwb. :D
The new rig will be paired with an Asus 34" PG348Q
Was wondering about that, with the mid tower case the custom configurator spat out the slim line - Whereas in the fatter cube (Air 540) there was enough space for 2 radiators, one at the top and one at front (non slim). I really like the Air 540, except the width is a bit too wide to fit on my...
Thanks, will check him out on Youtube.
Seeing how tempered glass & RGB is all the rage now I'm considering the Corsair 460X case paired with this ROG Rampage VI mobo (EATX). The In Win 909 looks really nice but slightly too large for me.
Do I need anything else?
Edit: these 2 are my front...
Doing a build in need of some recommendations:
Splurged on an Asus 34" PG348Q and Poseidon 1080 Ti. Was originally considering the Corsair Air 540 or Fractal Node 804 but I think I'll stick to a tower case, something shorter than my Carbide 500R, with tempered glass. This one looks pretty good...
Hey, thanks for the recommendations. I'm not set on uATX, I could go for smaller mini ITX if it will help me fit in more radiators and fans.
According to the Air 240 specs, 29cm (11.4 inch) is the longest card I can fit, and the Poseidon is 29.8cm (11.73) inches long! I guess I have to scratch...
I'm looking at the following build and want to try water cooling - can I water cool my CPU and the GPU in a small case such as this one?

1. Any opinions of ethermine vs ethpool? I've read anyone with over 1Gh should use Ethpool?
I have one address with 1Gh and another with 3Gh - should I move to Ethpool? Should I combine the hashing power - will I get better results? (don't know how I would track the contribution of shares...
Hmm, for some reason three of the four rigs now work with 6 cards. Did I reverse-jinx myself?
Each RX470 doing ~24.5 Mh/s = ~147Mh per rig
Edit:
rig 2 still has the BSOD with 6th card attached
rig 6 won't POST with single GPU connected via primary PCI-e slot - onboard HDMI is ok, as soon as I...
Yep, most up to date BIOS according to website (from 2014!). I'll try a 1200W PSU to see if that helps at all
Ordered some Biostar TB85s too so I hope I don't run into the same issue!
Built a few rigs - with 6 cards connected I see this BSOD on boot: attempted execute of noexecute memory
5 cards: hasn't crashed
6 cards: BSOD on start up - can't even boot into Windows
I'm really hoping this is not a PSU issue.
Rig specs:
Intel G3260
AsRock H81 BTC Pro 2.0
4GB DDR3-1600...

Thanks guys, I found http://wcpos.com/ which I'll take a stab at.
Edit: the above hasn't been updated in months. This looks like a much better bet: https://codecanyon.net/item/woocommerce-point-of-sale-pos/7869665
I'm starting to import & sell computer parts / computers. How do I keep track of inventory, buying / selling prices etc.?
I'm going to need a barcode scanner to scan each product's serial number - need to include this on sales invoices for warranty purposes. I already have a Woocommerce site...
I wasn't even aware of this, I've been using RM1000I's and Corsair Link has the same feature. Giving it a try with 5 second intervals, monitoring power in and power out.
For the new rigs am considering going from 1000W > 1200W PSUs to have more headroom for dual mining.
Sounds promising, but I would like some type of logging functionality - guess nothing exists on the market?
@Madpacket does the Rosewill have logging?
The Wemo Insight Switched seemed good but its reports are wildly inaccurate.
Don't really have time to tinker with DIY Raspberry Pi type...
Hey guys, is there a reliable way to measure and log each mining rig's actual power usage? I'd like to calculate exact electricity usage, as I am setting up more rigs. I've tried the Belkin Wemo and Dlink remote power switches but they seem to be unreliable (for logging power usage).
Got my Nano S too. I feel so much more secure now and not having to mess with syncing blockchains is a real bonus! Moved my almost-worthless Dogecoins on there, now I have access to my BTC/Eth/Doges all on one stick. Still trying to figure out where to store my 24-word recovery sheet.
I...
Thanks for the advice - same situation here, probably left it for too long but I do need some hardware protection. Going to order the 6-pack and pawn a couple off to my friends :)
Do the majority of these USB hardware wallets/devices work in the same manner? Just came across this through the multibit.org website: https://www.keepkey.com/ ... How does one go about choosing a hardware USB wallet? It's probably about time I got myself one.
The one feature I want to have is the ability to manage and keep track of multiple Bitcoin wallets (Eth/Zec other altcoin support would be nice, but not necessary at this stage)... I downloaded Jaxx and took a look at Coinbase but neither of these seem to support multiple wallets?
Just googled...
I currently have: 2009 13" MBP, 2010 21" iMac, 2012 11" MacBook Air.
None are powerful enough for video editing as I (learn how to) edit 4K videos from my DJI Mavic Pro (awesome piece of kit, btw!). I'm also an aspiring photographer so I want to dive deeper into Lightroom, photo editing, etc...
Thanks man, re: the multiple accounts on the Mist wallet, does it show & keep transaction history for each account separately? (Looks like I'll need a wallet contract to show incoming transactions)
Do any of you use & manage multiple wallets for BTC / Eth?
A lot of my friends & family have shown interest in crypto currencies, but I will be the one managing the coins on their behalf, and would like to set up a separate wallet for each user.
For BTC I could use something like...
Random (GAS / Gear Acquisition Syndrome) question: is there some type of small-ish projector that I can set up in my bedroom and use the wall as a screen? My wall is off-white colour (hint of beige) and throw distance is ~ 6ft - 8ft.
Lol, yep, somehow did not register this is not a 'cube'!
Those specs sound horrifying in today's age... I would gut it and keep the case but I don't even know what I'd do with it!
If only I had another one...
Just found this old G4 Power Mac. No idea on specs, don't know if it still works and it's heavy af.
Is this thing worth anything today? What's the latest Mac OS it would support?
Any other creative uses or suggestions?
