I am looking at high end notbooks becasue my parents are gonna buy me one for graduation :)...... I looked a Sony Viaos and Alienware laptops but this Dell seemed to be the better of them. I was just curious about why they would downgrade the new version of cpu's on these laptops.......but...

Air conditioner?

HELP PLZ!!!!!!

Ok heres what's going on. I am working on my computer and it randomly shuts off. I am like "wow that's wierd". So I turn it back on and nothing happens. I try again and again and again. Nothing. Finally I turn it on and get a black screen saying "Computer shut down due to thermal problem."...

Gonna buy a water cooling.......

I need to know what kind of cpu i have. I know it is a P4 3.0 GHz but what I need to know is if it is a P4 478 or a P4 775......or something like that....how can I check for that number? thanks!

BIOS QUESTION?

I have a dell dimension 4700 and did some upgradeing(including a case)...... anyway I took out the fan that was connected to the MOBO because I didn't need it anymore because the case included ALOT of them..... and now every time i turn on the computer it have an error message "CPU not...

Over clocking my cpu.....

Ok I downloaded everest and went to the mother board page of it. It says the motherboard id is: <DMI>..... and the motherboard name is: Dell Dimension 4700..........Is that the kind of MOBO I have? I thought Dell didn't make it's own MOBOs. Anyway is there any hope for me to overclock now?

Over clocking my cpu.....

I my bios there is no way to overclock my cpu or memory or anything.....is there some other way or sort of application I can get to overclock cpu? Thanks

ATI X800GT

only 8 pipelines but it can be overclocked a ton.....i'd say it will work great for that game....really good price too.....thats probly the best one you can get for that money

I was thinking about installing 2 cards on a system I am building......just wondering on how you would go about that???? install the two cards the hook the monitor to one of them?????or get some sort of splitter to run to both of them? thanks alot!

Windows XP page file......

Just a question I have.....my friends told me i could speed up my computer playing ames by adjusting the "page file" is win xp.............it was set at 3084 but he told me to go 256....i have 1 gig ram........but is lower better?? thanks alot

Random shut down.....

OK I built a computer for my girlfriend and it keeps randomly shuting down. The power supply is brand new. Everything else is used. It will shut down if you tap its case really lightly or sometimes you don't even have to touch it, it just shuts off. Any idea on what it could be? Thanks alot.

Ok I have 3 computers in this room(the room that I am in right now) and one of the passwords isn't working in one of them.....I called dell tech support but they dont understand (mexicans?!?!?!?).....I amn reading in my manual about bypassing something but i dont quite understand how to do it...

I installed a program on my computer a while back and i broke the cd for it......the program is still on my computer but I wanna install a fresh version of xp......but I do not want to lose that program.....is there a way i can burn the program on my computer onto a cd so that I can istall it...
