15gb is nothing today. But that’s kinda the point, none of them give you anything like enough to be useful because they all want you to pay to upgrade. That’s why they are all pitiful amounts of free storage.
Luckily they are all as cheap as chips to upgrade.
Absolutely, but depending on whose opinion you seek you will get a lot of different answers. Apple has to pick some amount.
It would be interesting to see the conversion rate between free and paid plans across the board.
Because they want you to buy additional storage so they offer only a small token amount for free to get you started, the same as every cloud storage service.
I disagree, my experience shows that Apple do support their products for a long time.
A subjective opinion is not fact.
No one is duped into buying Apple products, people choose to buy them.
No one needs a smartphone of any description. I think you are wrong on the support front, and you definitely need to stop being upset about it, life is too short that for!
’Less intelligent people’ don’t need taking care of, they need educating. If you’re too ’thick’ to understand Apple and...
I find Apple support their phones for many years so as the tech enthusiast in the family I can hand down my phone to other family members to be used for many more years to come.
I don’t believe in casting consumers as ‘victims’. People can simply chose not to buy the product and their life will...
Sadly there is pretty much zero competition in this market. For everything other than Apple your only choice is some flavour of android. Tough titties if you don’t want either.
the market should be forced to provide more options since it is currently so uncompetitive.
Apple support their products for many years meaning that even after you might have upgraded, your device will live on happily with another owner.
Where you don’t want/need to upgrade your device Apple make it nice and easy to get a new battery for your device so that it will get many more years...
Personally I've never replaced a battery on a phone either. I had phones with replaceable batteries for years and never had a need or desire to replace the battery. I've usually always found that you'd be wanting to upgrade the phone long before the battery ever became a problem anyway.
Exactly. In Apple's case the top bezel on the iPhone X was function over form, the way to get the most screen space and Face ID in the one device. Many other manufacturers that followed the same lead didn't even have Face ID.
The funny thing is if other manufacturers weren't just copier machines they wouldn't be blindly following Apple with these things. It's funny how everyone fell in line with non-removable batteries and the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Why do they follow what Apple does so much?
Apple Music does let you do that. Anything it can’t match in your iTunes library to something that exists in the Apple Music catalogue it will upload so that you can continue to access and play that music.

It's not that people think they are getting nothing in return, it's just a bad trade. Google are raking in billions in profits from that data and all you are getting is a free search engine, email and mapping service. As consumers we should be demanding much much more from our personal data...
Until someone does something about it. Why leave the majority of the world alone? They are all suffering from the situation we are in, we need to help them by demanding more competition.
‘I’ve never understood why so many people get this backwards as if a fast phone that shuts off randomly is better than a slower phone that doesn’t.
is it just wilful ignorance/stupidity because it’s Apple we’re talking about?
I wonder how many people didn’t upgrade their phone after the update was released (because the phone continued to work rather than shutting down)? It would seem to me if Apple weren’t interested in doing what was best for their customers then they wouldn’t have issued this update and allowed...
The trouble, as usual, is there is no better alternative. If you are an iOS user your ONLY choice of alternative operating system is android, which many people do not like or want (hence they bought iOS in the first place!).
it’s the lack of competition in the smartphone operating system market...
I’m patiently waiting for a manufacturer to move away from using a google operating system as I don’t use google products for ethical and philosophical reasons.
samsung have the resources to make this happen but seem to not be interested in making this happen. It now appears to be Huawei who...
It's definitely more robust than USBC. Lightening is altogether a better connector other than being proprietary. It'll be a shame if we are all forced to use USBC.
My current machine is a 2017 MacBook Pro so I know I definitely want something with a 16:10 screen.
I wonder if dell are going to refresh the XPS 15 with a 16:10 screen?
Manually choosing what to sync is very easy. Just check the songs/artists that you want to sync to your phone and then press sync. It does it all for you after that with no need to mess around with files and folders yourself.
