Samsung 955DF vs Viewsonic E90F

The North American equivalent to the 959NF is the 900NF. Unfortunately, it seems the 900NF is being discontinued, but you can still find in a few places if you look around. I got mine from NCIX's Canadian outlet, and it seems they still have it in stock.

Do I Need a Monitor with DVI?

CRTs with DVI connectors, although rare, do in fact exist, and they even make a little sense. The reason is that while CRTs require the signal to be converted to analog at some point, the later in the connection from video card -> monitor that happens, the less chance of picture degradation...

what is the best video player? (non Media player 9)

I use Media Player Classic. It's a WMP6.4 clone can play Realvideo and Quicktime files if RealOne and Quicktime are installed. Also, unlike WMP6.4 it can do fast seeking in ASF and WMV files.

Poll: Should/will Microsoft ever drop the C:\ and just go with directories?

Actually, there's nothing technical about NTFS that allows it. It's a decision on Microsoft's part to only allow that with NTFS. In Linux I can mount any partition type as a subdirectory of any partition type, regardless if it's FAT32, NTFS, ext2/3. XFS, or any other filesystem you can think of.

What mouse/keyboard do you use! (or you like best)

Keyboard: Fujitsu 4725. I just like the feel of it. Mouse: Logitech Mouseman Wheel (USB version of the original Mouseman+, not that blue thing with the smaller buttons). Most comfortable mouse I've ever used.

Anyone have any experience with Crucial RMAs?

Maxtor DiamondMax plus 60 heat issues

I don't think it's a big concern. I have a 30GB DiamondMax+ 60, and it doesn't get as hot as the Seagate Medalist Pro it replaced - and that Medalist had been going without any errors for nearly three years. If it worries you, then a fan will keep the temperature down.

How do i make this windows 2000 cd bootable?

You don't get the bootable part when you do a disc-to-disc copy (I believe). The Win2K CD boot sector is available online for those making slipstreamed SP2 CDs. Get it here and make an ElTorito ISO using something like CDRWin or maybe mkisofs. In fact, this link should be of help to you.
