[WCCF] 980ti coming this summer with full GM200

The 3 - 4K surround configuration people can use the 12gb ram. May not need 12, but some situations may need more than 6 or 4. Just like the little window of difference between a 970 and a 980 memory wise. You can test there, and make one card perform noticeably worse than the others.

Aftermarket OC 290/290X vs 970 benches?

Hocp has done gpu reviews where they test aftermarket 290x's VS 980 and sometimes 970. You can at least get some data points there. IMO, you won't throttle with aftermarket 290x's, but there is less o/c room, compared to the 970/980. There are exceptions before people freak, on the AMD side...

Or the 970 being about 20% slower, can't run the same settings (to low fps) and one setting would smooth everything out. Half empty glass crowd is trying to hard to make up worst case scenarios, where driver voodoo mystique is going to doom the 970. I think that's as likely as saying...

You should run a pagefile regardless of how much ram you have. Microsoft programmers have 'recommended' this forever. You can obviously run without one most times and have a fine experience. But that is anecdotal. Most times we create our own problems by playing with settings in windows...

What motherboards have Non-Z overclocking enabled for Pentium 3258?

I put together a build a few days ago, with G3258 using Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SOC LGA 1150 Z97. Still just using the stock cooler 4600mhz@1.35 is stable. Chip does not seem to like anything more than 1.4 volts, but that might be the cooling, even though it basically runs cool. A AIO, wicks that...

pre-dating the 8800, which might also be on legacy. It's the 6xxx and 7xxx series. You seem to get a sick enjoyment out of this. Do you applaud when people have hardware failures also?

If repeated attempts of installing one of the latest drivers, and can't run any 3d applications. (try unigene, Valley/ Heaven). You probably got a bad card. And might try another one of same model or go another route.

Newegg has GTX 960's Listed and they start at $199!

Nice. The new 460. Launch price VS old stock is never comparable. These will go on sale and get game bundles just like all cards. They should o/c up to 1600mhz like the big brothers. There is a EVGA model with boost to 1342.:thumbsup:

Why are 4k monitors considered gaming monitors?

I bought the samsung 28 4K (TN). Could not help myself. Last Christmas, I told my cousins the 'news' was 4K monitors would be available for under 1000 dollars. Well 9 months later Amazon had the 590 for 399.99. I said what the heck! If I don't like it, I know many persons working in graphics...
