God dammit Greenbay, you ruined my SB prediction by blowing a 99% chance to win that game.
Slew Foot and Captante both predicted a Pats/Seahawks Superbowl, so well done! Slew Foot made a pick for the Seahawks to win the superbowl as well, so he could still get bonus points.
Feeling really good about my Pats/Packers SB prediction. Much better than I did after the frist 3 weeks of the season when both the Pats and Packers looked awful.
How are everyone Else's predictions holding up?
Awesome games this weekend!
Never too early to predict this NFL season's Super Bowl! I make this thread every year around this time. Everyone makes their SB picks before the season beings, and then we revisit the thread at the end of the year to see how people did.
If your super bowl picks are wrong: no one really...
Oof! No one wants to play this year. One of our Fantasy leagues drafts in 5 days. The other fantasy league drafts in 11 days. Both just have one slot left to fill.
Football season is almost here, yay!
pyonir and I get a bunch of free leagues up every year for ATOT on Yahoo and they are always tons 'o fun. You'll need a Yahoo account to play.
First we have the NFL pick'em league. Very simple: Who can predict which teams will win each week and prove their...
That's a new trend now, someone will get a tattoo declaring a team national champions before it happens...and they get tons of media coverage. Doesn't make the person any less of a dope, though :P
We all wish our bracket looked like this guy's! As if it wasn't pristine enough he also picked...
Yeah, I remember that! I didn't understand why John Cheney was pissed at him but the more Calipari talks, the more you realize he's just obnoxious. He's a damn good coach, though. Certainly not the first great coach to be a dick in person. I just can't listen to him talk ever again.
The better team won, so that makes me happy. Plus Coach Cal is obnoxious as hell so I'm glad he lost...and I don't know why UK didn't start fouling much earlier than they did. The refs gave UK like 26 free throws and 10 for Uconn. So they definitely gave UK a chance, but they shot like 50% at...
Great game, the better team won. Who were those weak announcers?
7 and 8 seed in the final game! That's gotta be a record for highest seed total between both teams in the final game. Does anyone know? What was the previous record?
It does speak to the power of the NFC vs the AFC for sure, at least at the top tier. I really wonder if Greenbay and San Fransisco would have also beaten Denver. Greenbay maybe, San Fransisco probably, but certainly not to the degree of a 30+ point drubbing. I think the Seahawks are just a...
How bad would you feel if you paid $5 million+ for a superbowl ad but it didn't air until the late 3rd/4th quarter where they lost 60+% of their audience by then? :)
As for commercials, my favorite was Seinfeld and Costanza because I'm a big Seinfeld fan and they were able to capture the...
We were long overdue for a bad Superbowl game, we were very fortunate to have so many GREAT back to back Superbowls for such a long time.
This is just sad for Peyton, it's going to play a huge part in his legacy, perhaps deservingly so.
At least the game was unaffected by weather!
Kinda odd since they did the same thing to me with and ASrock mobo (ASrock boards are the worst, btw, steer clear in the future). It didn't work correctly so I sent it for an RMA and meanwhile ordered a whole other motherboard. They said I broke it and wouldn't refund me (been a customer there...
As I guy rooting for the Broncos I hope manning doesn't throw to Sherman's side of the field :P - Yeah Sherman is annoying but so many great WRs and DBs in the past and present are borderline crazy. Would be cool to see him get beat, though.
Seriously? It's hard to turn on any kind of sports...
Great game! Was almost marred by the refs horrible miss of that turnover, where they guy broke his leg but still held on to the ball. Everyone knew that was a turnover but the officials. If Seattle scores on that next play, the whole game is tainted, but the refs really really really lucked out...
Damn, almost had it! 49ers almost pulled out the upset but not quite. This is definitely not the year of the underdogs. Still have Denver winning the Superbowl though (they will be favored), and I still think they will.
vi edit got it right! Well done, sir. Kinda surprised he was the only one...
technically I suppose, but I don't think either team is an "underdog" in this game. The 49ers could make the same claim, going into Seattle where they haven't had any success, but I don't hear anyone on the 49ers playing the underdog card...although I'm sure one of the players has by now, or...
As much as I hate the pass interference call as it is constituted now (and miscalled at least 70% of the time) I gotta say they have been doing a much better job with PI calls in the playoffs so far...but I think it's probably because everyone is uptight for playoff football. We didn't see the...
Kaep wins a lot which is the most important but like RPD said he makes a lot of really inaccurate passes. I think he should use his legs even more than he does and they should try and keep him to short passes as much as they can.
I vehemently disagree with Chip Kelly as coach of the year. Chip Kelley got a lot of credit for the great play of Nick Foles, who Chip originally wanted to play backup to a Michael Vick who has been shitty for a long time. AND the Eagles play in the worst division in football while KC is in...
Can you imagine what the Colts could do if they ever started playing before the 3rd quarter? That has been their whole season. Why can't they get up for the game and be ready from the get-go? I don't know, but that was a great game to watch, even though I picked the Chiefs to win I have no stake...
They are to some degree, but it's still a judgement call by a bunch of old men trying to keep up down the sideline. The WR doesn't catch the ball...so he throws his hands up trying to bait the refs, and the ref bites and rewards him with a flag.
So you just want it to stay how it is? I think...
They really need to make Pass interference challenge-able. Every week there are horrible pass interference calls. Not every once in a while, every week in almost every single game, and they often have huge impacts on the game. They either gotta change the rule some how or make it challengeable...
I still maintain my stance that the hit on Gronk was dirty. T.J. Ward didn't just go low, he went way low. I know all about the rules about not going high now, but thugs now use that as an excuse to take out players knees and give the old "Well, what was I supposed to do?! I can't go high!"...
I failed. But to be fair, this week's NFL thread has a dumb name. Also, why is the hockey thread bumped to the top, is there even Hockey being played today? NFL/NHL...so close to eachother, especially without my glasses on.
Anyways, now that I'm here...uh...how bout that hockey? Those fellas...
Annnnnnd it's the best day of football in NFL history. I feel truly bad for those that don't have NFL Redzone.
The hit on Gronk was dirty. I understand you can't go high now, but he deliberately went wayyy low on Gronk
Pass interference call at the end of the pats game was horrible. I hate...
I was thinking about skipping this season as well after lame-ass season 3, but I'm glad I decided to watch it again. Entertaining and enjoyable season 4 so far through the midway point. Wingnutz said they have a new showrunner this year, and has fixed the show as much as possible, which...
Well said. I have liked this season a lot more than last already. Last season was drawn out so much and way way way too much Andrea, it was by far the worst season. Even if they went on to do 20 more seasons of the show, that will still probably be the worst one.
Also, binge TV ftw! Gonna...
Damn what a complete beat down. I really didn't think Seattle could go 15-1 until tonight...they look unbeatable. Still, the best teams during the regular season have a habbit of not winning the Superbowl.
I just heard yesterday that the Seahawks are the most penalized team in the league, very odd for the best team in the NFL (at the moment).
Should be a fun game to watch tonight. Hopefully Kaepernick will get back in a grove of some kind and throw for more than 120 yards for once. The...
How did Denver blow a 24-0 lead? Wow. Knowshon Moreno with 224 yards rushing, maybe should have used him more. Still, they rushed him 34 times, which is a ton. Brady/Belichik just own Peyton.
I picked the Chargers to win this week, so I got that going for me, which is good.
