Not joining a clan makes zero sense because you lose out on free rewards and loot each week. In addition, the clan perks increase your own individual drop rates. Who doesn't want increased exotic drop rates from public events etc.?
Check my sig. It was easy to get 3.8 with a low vcore and really nice temps. I could get mine to 4 ghz but temps and vcore had to be raised to 1.38 or so.

QFT. If money is a big concern then my recommendation is Ryzen. You'll be able to upgrade it whenever using the same motherboard. You'll have to purchase a new motherboard when upgrading to a new processor if you buy intel later on down the road.

I've played countless games during the closed beta and I haven't slowed down since early access began. I have yet to see any cheating whatsoever. Sounds like you're being fed fud from the usual group of players that do poorly and have a lot of excuses for losing.
I've been wanting to build a new machine now for awhile and I'm holding out until Vega and Ryzen 5 are released. Most merchants are price gouging 1080 ti anyway right now. The stock on Ryzen motherboards will be much better too by the time Vega is released.
I pre-purchased the game so I could have access to the Closed Beta and it was worth it. The developer has released regular weekly updates throughout the closed beta and I suspect that won't change going into early access. It's a polished game that will definitely be released after EA.
I'll be playing Quake Champions primarily once closed beta kicks off. A steady 120+ fps is the goal. Other games I play are King of the Kill, PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds, and Escape from Tarkov.

I might as well chime in with my results. I recently just built my new rig containing the i5 2500K stock w/ASRock P67 PRO3. I'm using the stock cooler and my idle temp is around 35C and running prime95 on all 4 cores it sits at 65C.
The bottom line is the stock cooler is pathetic.

HoN for 10 bucks is a steal. Literally hundreds of hours of enjoyment. It's a huge step forward from DotA and leaps and bounds better than that crappy League of Legends game.
