Hey guys, you should check out www.72hoursremain.com and donate for Child's Play. If they get enough donations, they'll keep playing. Plus it's for Child's Play. If you don't know, Child's Play is a charity that donates video games to childrens hospitals across the US.

    Limiting power usage

You can't beat the convenience of ssh access right on the router. Also, no router at this cost ($0) provides the degree of control that iptables does.

    Third-party firmware for soho routers

@spidey - this isn't a high priority or mission-critical thing and if I wanted to run cables, I would just run cables to the two or three machines the wireless network is serving. @Jack - thanks for your input.

    Limiting power usage

Not sure if this is the right board, but I guess I'll find out... I have an old slotted P3 Gateway computer running as a router. The only things in it are the hard drive, stock AGP video card, and three PCI NICs. The power supply has one fan, all other cooling is passive. Is there anything I...

    Third-party firmware for soho routers

Hello. I have two routers here (D-Link WBR-2310 and Netgear WGR-614 v7), and I'd like to configure at least one of them as a wireless repeater. You'll notice both of these aren't compatible with DD-WRT. Does anyone know of any third party router firmware which allows me to accomplish this...

Any gotcha's using Apple keyboards with Windows or Linux?

I used one of the aluminum Apple keyboards in a computer lab today and really liked it, and really want one, I just want to know if there are any issues that would arise when not using them with OSX. A couple big questions: 1. Does the "delete" key (the one where a standard backspace key is)...

Keeping things cool in an insulated, airtight cabinet

Hello, I've got a P3 desktop running as a router, a 24-port cisco switch and a couple of home theater components which are all fairly new set up in my den. Most of the stuff I got in the winter, and they have an unanticipated side effect: the ambient temperature in the room is nearly...

    Apache mod_rewrite help

I finally got mod_rewrite to actually rewrite the url, now all my relative links in the re-written pages are broken. I tried adding a RewriteBase directive but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Any help would be appreciated. Below is my current htaccess file.

    PHP's ereg_replace

What I ended up doing was string replacing "<a href=\", "\">" and "</a>" with nothing, then using ereg replace on the resulting double URL. Not the cleanest, but it gets the job done.
  18. S

    PHP's ereg_replace

That could be quite inefficient because there can't be any limit on the size due to the nature of what it's being used for.

    PHP's ereg_replace

Hello. I'm making an interface for creating and editing data stored in a file. I don't allow the user to use any kind of HTML, so I've created a VB code type of thing, which I have working just as expected. However, I want to have links where any http:// string is made into an HTML link. I've...
