Will Kingston value RAM PC133 CAS 3 run in an Athlon system?

yeah, i run it in my athlon classic 800 with asus k7v mobo. ive heard some people say it can do 2-3-2 but my other ram chip (viking) wont so i didnt bother to test it. but yeah it will work fine at 133 cl3

Best Modem For Games??

i was a sucker and got the usr gaming modem and ill be damned but that thing is great! i have really crappy phone lines and every modem i have used has only gotten me to 26,400. with the gaming modem on regular setting i can get 37,666. a big improvement. but my ping suffers a little. on...

Do I need new power supplies, cables, etc?

the mobo should come with 2 ide cables and a floppy cable. what watt is your power supply? the mobo should also have a connector for a fan (hopefully the right one for what you ordered). make sure your case and ps can support the new stuff. it's probably not "AMD approved" but...

WTF, my drive is reporting wacky stuff, how can i fix it?

holy monkey. im working on my new 30gb hard drive, i partitioned it as 4 drives, 5/5/10/10gigs. the F: which is 10 gig, has 7 gigs of info from my old hard drive. after i move it windows shows it as having 3 gig left. i reboot and then check all my drives. looks fine except now my F: has 10...

Direct X 8 is horrible. How can I go back to 7?

<< What DX8 features do they use? >> dunno what features they use, just says it needs to be installed to run properly. i tried running giants on 7a and it wouldn't run, just gave me the error message that said to install dx8.

every hard drive i've had has had to be replaced, why?

well almost anyway. with 2 exceptions (40 meg in my 286, first computer and a 140mb seagate in my dx2 66). wd 340mb hard drive in a 486dx2/66 dies after a few a few months. replacement still working (computer is now a pentium 90 which my father uses once a month). seagate 2.5gb drive...

i hate the word cyber and web surfing.

agreed. i hate trying to come up with something. i hate using the words internet, net, surfing, cyber, etc. drives me nuts. i just say ill look for it on the computer, im playing on the computer, etc. everything just sounds so lame.

need help detecting a cdrom in an old 486 system for a friend

yeah cd roms dont have things like that. they just need the .sys driver and the mscdex.exe command to work. see what the drive is, may have to take it out, then go online and find the drivers for it (most have an install program). put the sys file wherever, then you will have to modify the...

Which USB hub to get?

i bought one at sam's made by stratitec. never heard of them but needed one asap and it's been perfect. not one problem and i have 4 devices on it (printer, camera, joystick, joypad). it's powered and came with 2 a-b usb cables! was 21$ before tax. hard price to beat.

yeah ill look at the radeon some more. the g450 was 65$ for 16MB sdr. 130$ for 32ddr. would much rather have the radeon. ive been mispelling radeon :o

yeah it will be 98se. i was thinking the ati xpert 2000? says it has dvd hardware decoding on board and 32megs of ram. it's around 70$ cant really find any reviews for it, and it's a pretty old card.
