What's a good surveillance system? (seeing an uptick in attempted thievery)

Ubiquiti UniFi is pretty decent and has really good ability to view recordings/timeline remotely via browser or mobile. The cameras are more but there are no license fees for NVR, etc. If you have the need for few cameras the CloudKey Gen2+ is fine. Otherwise I'd recommend the dedicated NVR...

Rubycon. The forum doesn't show (mods/admins) as banned. However someone (you know who you are!) has set something called frustration options where it makes a user attempt to sign in or use forum function so slow that they give up or the browser times out.

64 Core Threadripper 3 to cost $3,800(Opinion)

64cores needs a lot more than 256GB RAM offered on current motherboards. I guess if you really *need* it there's the server platform. There's also (usually) a decent gap between so called enterprise computing devices and desktop parts so $4k seems a bit high. The 24 core parts are showing up...

Do you walk the shopping cart back to the cart pen or do you leave it near where you were parked?

No that's just being a lazy ass... I like the ones where you have to put a quarter in to free the cart and to get your quarter back you have to put the part at the end of the chain back in. Carts are a leading cause of door dings next to people that swing 'em wide open and couldn't give two...

Jailbreaking pretty much died when untethered jailbreaks weren't possible. If one has to run the app to perform the jailbreak every time your phone is restarted, what's the point? Rooting android devices is very dependent on device model and manufacturer. Most sold in the USA have locked...

16 dead in hot air balloon crash

Sad. We have those high tension wires running through part of our ranch and some years ago was witness to what I thought for sure was going to be tragic. The pilot amazingly went UNDER the wires! I couldn't believe it. 16 lost their lives today. That's sad indeed.
