Lag spikes when another computer is on same router

There is no bittorrent running on the PCs. This is also a completely new reformatted computer. Nothing installed on it. I figured it might be a virus but it's not. Any other ideas?

Tons of traffic to a local computer that isn't on the wireless bridge. and lots of action to a port that is generally known to be a port that is used for half life and counter strike. wtf, have 0 games installed on this pc. heh

actually, staring at the bandwidth tool, bandwidth both on the LAN and wireless goes NOTABLLY up when the computer is on. Why could this be? What do I need to do? If it was just updates, wouldnt it stop after a while? It doesn't. I've had the PC on for hours at a time, and it still does it after...

it would sit at 40-60KBs during the game, and then every 45 seconds or so it would go up to the 105 spot, and a couple times i saw it at the 150KBps spot.

Don't see why it would be using too much bandwidth, there is literally 10 other devices on the wireless network, and they don't use that much bandwidth either. I put the XBOX 360 on the downstairs router just to test, and left the PC on, and there was no issues. So it has something to do with...

Windows 7 on startup freezes at starting windows..

ive tried moving them around. same issue. this problems happens even when the hdd is not plugged in. so i'm guessing it has nothing to do with the hdd. i've tried the installation with and without the dvd drive and with and without the dvd drive, no luck
