368Kbps SDSL for my lab is $172 a month with a 60 month contract. We are getting the service for the 256Kbps price of $134 a month, under the same contract. :)
Now this is a business grade DSL line, it never goes down and always has a stable connection speed. Unlimited IP addresses and...
Well this explains why you were up in arms about the stats Geoff. I forgot about your race.
Generally the problem with the stats hanging is well JBoss keeps on hanging up. Apparently this time the stat processor was stuck. Truthfully I don't know the difference, I am not a Linux or Java guru...
Not mine. It likes to freak out after a while.
I would not trust any server to a board based on VIA. Registered memory is a must, if not registered ECC memory.
Lets not go overboard on the harddrives here. Even though it is basically a database server, the hdds come after a good base...
Your not going to like what I suggest Geoff, but I think you need to consider it. Your current problems will be no more if you invest in the right hardware right now.
The file server at my lab is made by Micron, the RAM company. It is based on an Intel MB440LX Balboa motherboard and has two...
As WTT0001 said you will need to use FireDaemon to run D2OL as a service. I am pushing to get a service option for 2.5 but not holding my breath. More of a 3.0 thing since 2.5 will basically be a release to improve stats.
What do you mean by this? I run about 10 GHz of high speed Athlons at home and dont have a problem with dial-up. Best to go get coffee or something of that nature but not as bad as SETI@home. If you are referring to D2OL being a bandwidth hog then yes it is and I use NetLimiter to keep it...
Ok, Andy answered the question about different command options. This is not a Command Line per say as in running in a DOS command box. Rather you are using a command prompt to change options and control the client. The file bases controller gives control of the client via editing of the...
Well I do have two nuclear reacters 10.4 miles from the house, but if you look again I only have this at home:
Dual AMD Durons @ 2.0GHz
AMD Duron @ 2.1GHz
AMD Duron @ 2050MHz
AMD Athlon @ 2150MHz
800MHz G4 iBook (soon to be doing RC5)
800MHz VIA Samual2 C3
All of the Athlons are running D2OL...
Hum, reserving spot. Be back in a few minutes...
Ok. Lets see.
Start out with the lab...
10 AMD Athlon 1700+ T-Bred, 5 are overclocked to 2200+, need to do the other five.
5 2.4GHz Intel Pentium 4 'B'
1 AMD Athlon 2000+ Pally
1 AMD Athlon 800MHz (www.kb9skw.net)
Dual 200 MHz Intel Pentium...
I have actually been eying an ASRock mATX board based off the new SiS 741 chipset. Nice thing is it includes video. There are two different models, the K7S41GX and the K7S41, difference being the K7S41GX only supports a FBS of 333 MHzwhile as the K7S41 offers a 400 MHz bus. They both have...
If you cannot get to the files then you are SOL. Sorry but it's a hard lesson that will teach you to back up your node.prp files.
As I suggest to all D2OL members, back up the node.prp files on a floppy or whatever. I have them on my machine at home, my server at the lab and also online on my...
Just for the heck of I am gonna 'Eh?' this thread. lol
Good work as always Geoff. Be looking for an increase of work from Team Frozen Yogurt soon. Dont worry not enough to comptete with you guys bue we should pass storagereview.
O lets see.
At the lab I have:
10 1.8GHz AMD Athlon XP / 256MB PC2100 / Windows XP Home
5 Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz B / 512MB PC2700 / Windows XP Pro
1 AMD Athlon XP 2000+ / 512MB PC2100 / Windows XP Pro
1 AMD Athlon 850MHz / 512MB PC133 / Windows XP Pro (kb9skw.net webserver)
Dual 200MHz Intel...
Hay man, have you been feeling the heat lately??? :D
I was wondering what you are running for your machines? We seem to be neck and neck for the past week or so now that I have taken a few boxes off SETI@home and Prime95 and moved them back to D2OL.
Are you kidding me? The RDF center in th UP of Michigan can pinpoint a hand held radio to a part of a city anywhere in the country. then a they just need to send a field agent or ask the ARRL to have its Official Observers do it for them.
Do you know anything about RF at all?
I dont think he will be having any issues with the FCC or finding the ARRL handbook in his local book store as he is in the UK.
Take a look at the Flight Refuelling Amateur Radio Society over in the UK. Excellent sorce of information for us hams.
Your body can both attune and amplify a RF signal. Dont forget the amount of iron in your blood, that is what makes the difference when you move around a bit and a radio station can go in and out on you. Likewise as I said your body can block, or attune, a RF signal.
