I had a DQ6 and a TRUE. You have 2 choices fitting the TRUE , i tried it both ways and cooling was about the same.
First option is to remove the Crazy cool off the back of the board and install the True backplate.
second option is leave the crazycool on and buy some small nuts and washers...

Thats not true. Most (800Mhz fsb) P4's are compatible with P35-P45, but its true the OP's 533Mhz cpu will not be. That CPU is a socket 478 and wont work at all.

I had a X38DQ6 but stay away from Gigabyte. The P5E from Asus is a rock solid board for $250. Performs way better than my $350 DQ6, especially memory performance.

This happens on any board. As the frequency goes up the timings needs to be looser (usually). Its not just the DQ6. If you look at timings on standard memory sticks it like 800Mhz 4-4-4-12, 1066 Mhz 5-5-5-15 1333Mhz 7-7-7-21 1800Mhz 9-9-9-25 etc.

Well guys i just switched to an Asus board and it has solved my issues so i wont be following this thread anymore.
For anyone with a X38DQ6 there is a new bios fix F9d and new bioses for other models. I cant say if it works bcoz i dont have the board anymore but i hope it works for you guys.

I have it on Vista and xp 32 bit. From what i have seen if you get it with one OS you get it with any OS. It can be different with every reboot so....but one spike every 10 secs isnt so bad, at least i think thats as good as its gonna get.

bodorange, have you tried the beta bios? Or are u waiting for a final? Your PC must feel sluggish and unresponsive, flatlining at 2500us would cause all sorts of problems.
Gigabyte are lot better at responding to problems than most companies in my experience. At least they answer you in a day or two if you contact support.
