    ASUS what lies beneath

Ye i dont think you can single out any company. I RMA'd a Gigabyte board that took 2 months. All of them seem to have a slow rma process and i think they do it on purpose. I mean, if you have a minor issue with your board but you know you will have to wait 2 months, most people will live with...

    ATTENTION ASUS

They have addressed this SM issue on the P6T and the P6T deluxe "P6T 0502 Bios/P6T deluxe Bios 1403" "Fix system may not able to resume from S3 if Base Clock is set over 170MHz" The P6T has had 5 bioses and the P6T deluxe has had 8 bioses. The V2 has only 2 but remember the V2 was...

    ATTENTION ASUS

Infrequent bios updates could mean their boards are already stable right? I mean if they need to release heaps of bios updates then obviously there must be problems. You dont mention what your "issues" are but if infrequent bios updates is the biggest problem then it cant be too bad. If...

All of it really. I just went there to see which part was worse and got a "server too busy" message in the download section. If it does work it takes ages to load a page, and download speeds for drivers are slooow.

Im very happy with ASUS hardware, i have purchased many Asus boards and they have always been reliable for me. They just need to fix their website.

    ATTENTION ASUS

For the love of god and the sake of humanity please fix your website. Either fix the system or get more bandwidth because the site is virtually unusable most of the time. Many other big IT companies can do it so why cant ASUS?? Its really not good enough and has been a problem for a long...

Need help with motherboard for ati4870 hd

Ashish, I would try and get a newer board if u can. Like the P5Q range. P5Q or deluxe, Or even the P5E or P5E deluxe should be cheaper than those WS baords and have plenty or ports for everything. BTW, Australia will win in the cricket. (LOL)

Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L, Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3P and GA-EP45-DS3R. EDIT: Also, I hate unstable boards and boot issues...

Gigabyte have a comparison chart where it tells what each board has or doesnt have. http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Pro...ID=2843,2844,2841,2842 They are very similar. the DS3 doesnt have raid. DS3P has a heat pipe cooling, and there are a different number of PCI/PCI-e slots otherwise very...

    ***Unofficial Gigabyte X38 / EX38 Chipset Thread***

I had a DQ6 and a TRUE. You have 2 choices fitting the TRUE , i tried it both ways and cooling was about the same. First option is to remove the Crazy cool off the back of the board and install the True backplate. second option is leave the crazycool on and buy some small nuts and washers...

Ya go with a P45. Either the Gigabyte or P5Q from Asus.

    X38-DQ6(DDR2-1066 version) Question

I had a DQ6 and the board rarely went over 40 celcius (with overclocking), that seems high. Like Toadeater said some boards had poor contact (no contact) between the chipset and heatsink so maybe check it out.

    Motherboard with PCI2.0 or DDR2 1066 memory

OMG get a P5E (X38) or a P5E Deluxe (X48) instead of a DQ6, trust me, been there done that.

Is Motherboard's FSB backward compatible with old FSB CPU's?

Thats not true. Most (800Mhz fsb) P4's are compatible with P35-P45, but its true the OP's 533Mhz cpu will not be. That CPU is a socket 478 and wont work at all. You need to check exactly what CPU you have..533 no 800 yes so you need to find out. You will have a problem with the memory also.

Which would YOU get? ASUS P5E Deluxe X48 or P5Q Deluxe P45?

I have the P5E and its a great board. Solid and fast. Theres nothing so great on the P5Q that makes it better than X38/48. What features are you liking on the P5Q?

    Gigabyte Boards and DPC Latency

semaj1286, i havent seen many reports about Gigabyte boards with AMD chipsets but it wouldnt surprise me because the latency issue is related to the board and not the chipset, but there could be many reasons you are having problems like beray said so you will need to test it yourself. The...

    Gigabyte Boards and DPC Latency

Yeh we know. Only the P45's are problem free,(apparently) but i switched to a Asus P5E X38. On the X38DQ6 i had the DPC latency thing but my computer was unresponsive and gaming was laggy too. I got the P5E and used all the same parts CPU/RAM/PSU/HD/Video Card and the problem was solved and...

LGA 775 Motherboard ? what would you choose if you were me?

My friend your thinking is a little out with a few things. The 800 Mhz will be better because it will give you more options/dividers to use while overclocking. You dont have to change CPU multiplier to end up with the right memory settings. You can change the memory divider, which you will have...

will the Asus PQ5 deluxe support the E7200?

Eh? The E7200 runs at 2.53 Ghz with 1066 Mhz fsb. The answer is yes it will run it. You may need a bios update but it will work. The board supports 800/1066/1333/1600 FSB CPUs.

Best Intel Based Gaming Board using E8400

I had a X38DQ6 but stay away from Gigabyte. The P5E from Asus is a rock solid board for $250. Performs way better than my $350 DQ6, especially memory performance. If you dont want to spend that much one of the P5Q range would be good.

LOL yes. I've had a good laugh reading the manuals/bios options etc too. Its a big company surely they...

    X38 DQ6 - High DDR2 OC WILL ROB Bandwidth @ 1200Mhz+

This happens on any board. As the frequency goes up the timings needs to be looser (usually). Its not just the DQ6. If you look at timings on standard memory sticks it like 800Mhz 4-4-4-12, 1066 Mhz 5-5-5-15 1333Mhz 7-7-7-21 1800Mhz 9-9-9-25 etc. Having said that the DQ6 seems to be unable...

Mate, if you just got that board take it back and ask for a P45 board. If they havent got them yet they will have very soon, in the next week or 2. Let them know straight away about your problem and ask how long before they get the P45. If you have another board to use send it back straight...

Yours isnt great, i notice it on my machine when it looks like that especially gaming lag etc and theres a good chance its causing video isues for you. Play a video and run the checker at the same time as it is stuttering. If u can see spikes are timed with the stuttering then it could be...

    Gigabyte Boards and DPC Latency

You shouldnt notice any spikes under 1000us. Unless its like a solid continuous 1000 then you will feel a bit laggy in games and the system generally might feel a bit laggy. Most people probably wouldnt notice though to be honest. People that are used to high end machines and performance...

Over 10 mins? thats pretty good i wouldnt worry about it if everything is working right. Yep, its not looking good for a complete resolution of this problem. If it was fixable via the bios we would have it by now. Gotta give them credit for listening and acknowledging the problem and working...

    Gigabyte Boards and DPC Latency

I doubt it . From what you describe as the "problem install" of Vista 32 it sounds like you dont have the problem much at all. Many people with this issue have anything from a flat continuous 1000us latency or/plus regular spikes in the red at every 2 or 3 seconds. Most people would...

    Gigabyte Boards and DPC Latency

I have it on Vista and xp 32 bit. From what i have seen if you get it with one OS you get it with any OS. It can be different with every reboot so....but one spike every 10 secs isnt so bad, at least i think thats as good as its gonna get.

Gigabyte are lot better at responding to problems than most companies in my experience. At least they answer you in a day or two if you contact support.
