I just ordered 80mm fans and when they arrived realised they're too small and my fans are more like 90mm. I can't find anything about the official size of my computer's fans (hp compaq 5800), does anybody know if it takes two 90/92mm fans? I just don't want to make another mistake.
Sorry I know...
When I look physically in my computer it goes
first slot: micron
second: corsair
third: micron
fourth: corsair
but my CPU-Z txt file that I've pasted here seems to write it as
micron
micron
corsair
corsair
so I'm a bit confused. :|
That's so weird, I swear I put the matching pairs in 1 and 3 and 2 and 4. It's running dual channel and it's how they were placed when I got the computer with its two sticks in... but from the info I've put it looks like slot 1 and 2 match and then 3 and 4. Quite confused. And is Micron slowest...
Ok, with all RAM sticks in and Micron sticks still in slots 1 and 3 the BIOS memory timings now say:
timing mode: auto
memclock index mhz:333mhz
CAS latency: 2.5
min RAS active time: 7t
RAS to CAS delay: 3t
Row precharge time: 3t
Row cycle time: 10t
Row refresh cycle time: 12t
read-to-write...
Ok when I go into BIOS with the two Micron sticks in 1 and 3 it shows 400Mhz and says timing mode is set to auto. It also says:
CAS latency: 3
min RAS active time: 8t
RAS to CAS delay: 3t
Row precharge time: 3t
Row cycle time: 11t
Row refresh cycle time: 14t
read-to-write time: 5t
write recovery...
Okey-doke. Just checked and the DRAM thingy seems to already be T2. I'll do a CPU-Z scan with just the Micron RAM sticks in (in slot 1 and 3) and then put in the Corsair in also to see if anything changes in a scan and if it does then I set the memory settings to either what timings showed when...
Ok thanks :)
If I still fail what is the best RAM to leave in? :) I know dual channel is good but if 4gb dual channel continues to crash should I drop down to 2GB or run single channel 3gb? Or even single channel 3.5gb using 1 512mb stick I have which def works in there but might not match...
I'd give up but some people have made it work >.< e.g.
"I've been trying to make sense of this issue as well. It seems that the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium still has some sort fo issue though with running 4GB (or sticks) of RAM, despite the processor revisions.
I'm running 4gb no problem at 400...
Thanks for the replies :)
it seems all of you are using better phones than the one I was planning on getting (Galaxy Ace 2 not to be confused with the Galaxy S 2) but still useful.
I see your point but don't know how to replace a motherboard, I really don't think I'm at that level/want to take that risk on a computer which is working really nicely. Having more RAM would be nice but it isn't worth the hassle/risk right now in my life or the cost of an entirely new computer...
I figured out how to get it to recognise all 4GB of memory weeks ago (memory remapping), it's the BSOD and freezing I need to fix. :(
I've not tried flashing a BIOS yet because I've heard it's risky. :|
I got it off someone I know longer know, I think it was custom built but don't actually know for sure. The RAM is all the same speeds. Here is cpu-z info, bear in mind that this was a scan I did when I had 3.5gb of memory in and was running single channel. The 4th stick (512mb) has been removed...
Sad times :( but did your llama friend consent?
interestingly the second time in a few minutes that a llama has been mentioned... (llama is an android app).
I have just checked and Llama has a "noisy contacts" option which basically means that you pick certain contacts who will "override the ringer settings in 'x' profile". And then the profile is whatever you set it, e.g. silent at night, silent at work, silent when plugged in etc.
It's really...
http://geekaphone.com/compare/Samsung-Galaxy-Ace-2-vs-Sony-Ericsson-Xperia-PLAY
Yeah so the internal memory is 10x bigger on the Ace 2 but the RAM is still only 786 MB. I really wasn't after a high-end phone but will I have the same problem with the Ace 2 would you guess?
When you say memory do you mean the RAM or the internal storage? Because I have an Xperia play and the internal storage is pitiful and nearly full. Not sure about RAM, I shall check.
Thanks for the reply. I have 4 sticks of 1GB RAM that I already own. My computer motherboard so old (only takes DDR RAM) that it isn't really possible to buy 2GB sticks and they might not work anyway but at the same time my computer does everything I want so I'm not looking to replace it. I've...
Again sorry for the wall of text. My BIOS is the a8n-sli premium acpi BIOS revision 1007
I also found this conversation which is relevant:
Does anybody know more about this?
"With that MB when you fill all four Slots you may have to run the memory at DDR333 and I would set the memory Voltage...
Hello. :)
I've installed a new SSD, HDD, RAM, graphics card and OS so I am happy with my computer, I will get that out of the way first before anybody tells me to give up on my ageing machine! :p It is working perfectly and much better than before (even if it is very old/rubbish compared to...
Hi :)
This probably has been spoke about on a thread but it seems pretty difficult to search for.
The main things which annoy me about my phone are the limited storage (and resulting lag) and the fact that I get tons of force closing when I use Opera browser (the only browser I like)...
OH GOD. I couldn't remember enough to think of which one you meant but the moment I clicked the link. It would be even more cringey in HD. >.>
edit: I didn't rewatch it but from memory... was it supposed to be like the Titanic spitting scene perhaps?
Me too. :) I think most people would. Especially since I know people who won't play it because they only care about graphics (a housemate of mine actually said this). Whatever, they don't deserve it. :p
I think they'd make loads of money as well, can't quite work out why they've not done it...
I love Chrome so much but sadly it can't handle lots of tabs on my PC. Uses tons more RAM than any other browser for me, and I'm not good at cutting down on tabs. :p
I hope that I can get my beloved Castle of the Winds to work on 64-bit Windows. *sob*
It works fine on Windows 7 32bit though so I suppose that (1989). Or Maniac Mansion but I don't think it was the original version, and that might have been when I had Vista...
I recently bought AoE3 on sale because at the time it was the only game of its type on Steam and I'd been having trouble getting multiplayer games to work; Steam made that easier. I also bought Empire Earth on sale on GoG.
I wonder if I should've waited (if I'd known) and bought this instead...
