No, I believe in a high quality PS which should provide good isolation from the power line garbage. At work (an aerospace company) or at home, I never use a line conditioner or a UPS and not convinced of the value of it. My computers are not the "mission critical" type. But I back up regularly...

Legacy PCI card not seen by new MB

I have an Adaptec 2930U2 SCSI controller in No. 2 PCI slot. The P5B-E does not see card nor any thing else. Hardware scan does not turn up anything. Forced driver load cannot find the hardware. Are there any tools from Asus to check the PCI slot?

You can find the HP DVD burner at slightly lower price in Europe (surprise). No reason to pay more if one can get the Samsung for $88 at Best Buy. I am more looking for the under $50 Newegg type price. Thank you for the link.

It is not fair to compare OEM with retail box price. The Sony OEM dual layer with software is only $84. Sony OEM with software at Newegg For less than $10 difference, the drive quality, not price should decide the purchase.

Intel locks all overclocking features on 915/925 ??

See the detail at Tom's Hardware. The real question is how much margin in thermal stability will Intel allow in their corresponding CPU. Up to P4, it is easy to get 25% and ocassionally, 50%. Celeron 300 and the Lockwood P4-1.6A are two of the 50% overclocker that come to mind. More...

Which 19" LCD should I go for? Samsung doo?

I just pick up a Samsung 192N at Office Depot yesterday for $513 after $30 MIR. After tax, it costed me about $550. Not top of the line, no digital connection. Very good price for a proven panel, same as used on Samsung 191T/192T models.

Just picked up a gigabyte 9200 for cheap OC ?

What benchmark did you use? I bought a Gigabyte 9200SE. Rage3D detected the default clocks to be 200/167 and any change will not hold. 3DMark 2003 said the clocks were 125/125 and got a 565 Mark. I returned the card and paid a 15% restocking fee (local store). ATI apparently have no quality...
