I've had 2 Engenius EAP600 - they were so-so (interface was from 2000 or earlier). Dropped clients. Replaced them with two Ubiquity UAP-AC-PRO. Very happy. They are not perfect (I hate to have Java in order to use interface). Handoff is working. Clients not dropping. They are not hard to master...
In addition to amazon and BB check Costco - might have some good deals (not a lot of drives though). B&H also has good selection and free shipping on most items (no tax except NY, NJ).
Regarding drives - I don't like 2.5". Also - if it's important data - look into dual drives with RAID1.
+1
Laser printers not known for good photo printing. Plus photos will eat laser cartridges very quickly.
Epson and Canon have some good photo printers. And don't forget to get one with pigment inks (waterproof).
RAID0 is not bad. It's actually very good - everything is faster. As RebateMonger said before chance of loosing data at least doubles.
But if you want reliability I would go with RAID10 - it's fast and chance of loosing data is very slim. In your case pick up 2 more 500GB drives (they are...
I'm a little confused here. If SATA card I'm getting is PCI-E x4 will it work in PCI Express x1 slot or PIC-E x16. Or it needs x4 only?
Card is Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8.
Thanks.
Well, original question was:
Building a new pc , is it worth going to SSD or should i stick with SATA
Answer is: YES, YES, YES.
Why: Boot time faster, shut down faster, windows updates faster, games load faster......
OK, I'm a little lost here. I have new Asus P5W-DH Deluxe with E6600.
My memory is old Corsair TWINX PC5400 rated at 675mhz (4X512Mb). How do I setup board to modestly overclock (if it's possible at all). I don't need anything extreme, just to get something extra for free.......
Basically I...
Hi there. My current system is:
Asus P5AD2-E with Prescott 3.6
Memory: 4 X 512 Mb (2Gb) Corsair XMS2 Pro - TWIN2X 5400
ATI x850XT
2 Raptors + 2 SATA drives
I was thinking about upgrading to Asus P5W-DH and Core 2 Duo E66600.
Do I need new memory or TWIN2X 5400 is fast enough?
Should I...
Hi there,
does anybody know any local computer shops in Northern New Jersey?
I really need couple of PC parts quickly. No CompUSA please.......
Thanks.
OK, I'm having the same problem as "RedUnit".
My 3.6 Prescott is installed in Asus P5AD2-E which has a lot of different overclocking settings. Now, when PC idles, or there is little load, CPU-Z reports that I have P4 3.6, but core is 2800 (200 X 14). Multiplier should be 18 in 3.6.
What's...
Explain to me the difference
I see that newegg has two P4 - 3.6Ghz processors. 560 and 560J.
560 is $10 more thah 560J.
Is 560 version is better, or runs cooler, or what?........
I have Intel P4 2.6C processor. Do you think it's worth it to upgrade only processor let's say to p4 3.4. Or performance increase will be small?
I have Intel 875P board with 1Gb DDR memory.
Thanks
Thank you all.
Yes, I have cable. I checked ARIN.NET and request are coming from SBC Internet and from somewhere in Holland.
Actually Norton has an ability to block certain IP's from accessing my computer. So I just put range of IP's and all attempts are gone.
Thanks again.
Hi everybody.....
I have WinXP Pro with SP2 and Norton Firewall 2005.

OK, it's really weird. I use WinXP with IE 6. There is a site www.dvdbarn.com(dvd rental site). I signed up from work(OS is WinXP, browser is IE 6). Everything was OK. I was able to add titles to my cart. Came home and can't add anything. When I click button "RENT" nothing is happening. I can...
Am I going to have problems?
I have Asus A7V266E with 1 stick of 512Mb Kingston Value RAM PC2100 with Samsung chips.
I just ordered from newegg.com another identical stick(512Mb Kingston), but order says that it has Nanya chips.
Is it OK to have different chips(Samsung / Nanaya) on the same...
thanks for reply Moishe. But problem is that I have 80Hz refresh rate in Windows at 1024 X 768, but when I play 3D game at 1024 X 768 it switches to 60Hz(looks like it always defaults to 60Hz in 3D games).
Hi there.
Quick question: Can I control refresh rates in 3D games. Let's say I'm playing Unreal at 1024 X 768. Monitor always shows 60Hz refresh rate. Can I increase it let's say to 80Hz? Is it possible.
Thanks.
Yes, I'm positive it's a new drive which makes this "metal" click. I did scan with Maxtor utility - "factory re-certified" and came up OK.
So I'm gonna keep this drive.
Thanks everybody.
BTW - drive is really fast and quiet. I love it.
Just got new Maxtor DX740 and every time I turn off computer it makes loud "metal" click at the end.
Is this drive faulty? Should I exchange it or is it normal?
Thanks.
Epson model 2450 is $399. I't USB 2 + Firewire(best of both worlds).
About bandwidth: If you scan something at 1200 dpi, your image could be 200Mb. USB 1 will choke on this.
I could be wrong though.
Well, they are not high CFM fans, I use them becasue they are slow and quiet(at 25C they are almost silent). As temp rises they spin faster and faster.
