No reason? I was updating my 2001 to the 2002 version. No big deal now. AVG Pro installed flawlessly and the Norton stuff is all gone from my machine. The damn thing even boots faster.
Happy camper now!
:D
Thanks a lot for the concern as well as the input from all of you! I just downloaded the trial version of AVG Pro. I really like the email support they provide.
:)
The program will not finish installing. I uninstalled the 2001 program per the instructions prior to installing 2002. It all goes fine until the restart. The machine gets to the black DOS window where it says: .....windows continuing to load (with the white blinking cursor at the bottom left)...
Anyone that is happy with your anti-virus software (other than Norton's) please let me know. I prefer one that does not have an integrated firewall lie MacAfee's.
:)
I'm having the same problem with Norton's firewall, and the lack of support from Symantec is unbelievable. The tech people send you to their message boards where you find at least 45 pages of people that have submitted the same problem in the past 2 days and still have no answers. The Norton...
IE 5.5 is no longer available from Microsoft. Look for it on program CD's you might have purchased last year. I know that any Symantec program put out last year has it. Version 6.0 is much faster, but if you really wanna fly install Netscape 7.0pr1
Both sites work fine with IE 6.0.26, but they sure look better in Netscape 6.2.3 with the exception the mouse "roll overs" behave differently. In both browsers http://jtproductions.web1000.com/ is not centered. It appears that you just need a more experienced webmaster.
I also changed my video drivers on win98se, and I did go to start/run/msconfig and unchecked "NvCplDaemon" under the startup tab and the error has gone away. I'll do the card remove thing later.
Thanks so much for the prompt help!
How do I remove the NVIDIA nView Desktop Manager from my machine? It's located in my control panel and it has started giving me an error message "Error in NvQTwk .. Missing entry NvCplDaemon" on boot-up. I have a Winfast geForce 256 DDR card That I just updated from Leadtek's web site.
Thanks...

I have the same monitor. You should check to make sure it's set to "auto degauss" on start-up. If it isn't you will get them purple corners. Sounds like that test you did may have reset the defaults as well.
