It was fixed by turning on some Windows Services from manual to automatic; followed by deleting all current users, which you may want to try; I think the command is close to: netusers delete * /all If you are always going to be the Admin, give the Admin access to the other users. The hard part...

All of the users using net users delete all had to be deleted, as they were conflicting, that was only the beginning. What the real hill to climb was figuring out the five services that had to be switched from manual to automatic which I know off. And finally the Admin has to be given access to...

Slasnesh - Are you trying to access the NAS from a Windows 8 computer ? My problem still continues, this is extremely insane, I have no solution, almost a month later and roughly a dozen people input.

The Network login screen is not happening on the Win8 side, it's happening on the Win7, the same pc for which I can access all the directories and the files contained within those directories. I don't understand why it's happening ?

Everything is up to date, and I am using the latest version of the WD Discovery software & it's Win 8.1. I have already mapped a directory on the NAS as a network drive on Win7 :)

Clicking "use another account" leads back to the user 'nobody' ? Is the WD Discovery software to be run on the PC that has no problems access files or directories, or the Win8 PC, because the Enter Network Password is being asked only on the PC that has no problems access the directories and...

I installed WD Discovery Software, and I set it to map the drive manually, but it won't proceed to do that, because I'm getting a; Enter Network Password, the top field is a user called, literally, called 'nobody' that I didn't create at any time. Below that is "use another account"

Update: The Win7 box can see the Win 8 shared folders, only see, it can't access the files without the "you don't have permission" error & the NAS problem continues.

Ketchup - I've tried the solutions you keep telling me, over and over and over again. That is nice that you have networking working, and it's good for whatever you know, that doesn't help my problem, no matter how much finger pointing you appear to be doing on what I'm doing wrong.

I made one of the directories on the NAS a shared read/write within the NAS control panel. I'm still getting this error when I try to map a directory as a drive.

386DX I am guaranteed adding the credientials as a windows credential :) I tried using the IP as you suggested for the host and user name. When I enter in the IP with or without \\ all it does it connect me to the NAS control panel :( I would have never thought this was going to be that...

I added the NAS as a Windows Credential, created a login & pass, then I tried to map a drive on the NAS as a network drive and I got the same message as seen in the first image, of post #1. :(

I updated post #77 as I made a error :) If I understand you correctly, the only url I see is the IP address of the NAS or //crex2cloud, that is only on the Windows 7 box which has no problems seeing the folders on the NAS. Obviously not the Window8 box that I want to have access to the NAS. :(

Net Share for the Win 7 box shows all the drives on the computer, and as for Net View shows nothing, instead crashes command prompt.
