Can't access NAS through Windows 8.1 PC anymore

It was fixed by turning on some Windows Services from manual to automatic; followed by deleting all current users, which you may want to try; I think the command is close to: netusers delete * /all If you are always going to be the Admin, give the Admin access to the other users. The hard part...

    Network & NAS Headache

All of the users using net users delete all had to be deleted, as they were conflicting, that was only the beginning. What the real hill to climb was figuring out the five services that had to be switched from manual to automatic which I know off. And finally the Admin has to be given access to...

The Network login screen is not happening on the Win8 side, it's happening on the Win7, the same pc for which I can access all the directories and the files contained within those directories. I don't understand why it's happening ?

    Network & NAS Headache

Clicking "use another account" leads back to the user 'nobody' ? Is the WD Discovery software to be run on the PC that has no problems access files or directories, or the Win8 PC, because the Enter Network Password is being asked only on the PC that has no problems access the directories and...

    Network & NAS Headache

I installed WD Discovery Software, and I set it to map the drive manually, but it won't proceed to do that, because I'm getting a; Enter Network Password, the top field is a user called, literally, called 'nobody' that I didn't create at any time. Below that is "use another account"

Windows Firewall is off. I won't touch a registry edit at this point, don't want to spiral a problem to worse.

    Network & NAS Headache

Ketchup - I've tried the solutions you keep telling me, over and over and over again. That is nice that you have networking working, and it's good for whatever you know, that doesn't help my problem, no matter how much finger pointing you appear to be doing on what I'm doing wrong.

    Network & NAS Headache

I can't map any directory on the NAS because of the above error. It seems so simple, yet as I mentioned, I've had numerous attempts at trying to solve.

    Network & NAS Headache

I was informed from someone who has run through these problems said, the problem is the networking between Windows versions. And is something Microsoft ignored ?

    Network & NAS Headache

I made one of the directories on the NAS a shared read/write within the NAS control panel. I'm still getting this error when I try to map a directory as a drive.
  19. M

    Network & NAS Headache

Don't you mean, Windows 8 does not have access to view the directory for the new user created within the NAS ?

    Network & NAS Headache

There is good news and bad news. Bad News; watch this video, it is the problem that I've been having, including up to now trying to get the Windows 7 & Windows 8 box to communicate. Which may be why I can't map a directory on the NAS as a drive. I've been informed that, it's an issue that...

I updated post #77 as I made a error :) If I understand you correctly, the only url I see is the IP address of the NAS or //crex2cloud, that is only on the Windows 7 box which has no problems seeing the folders on the NAS. Obviously not the Window8 box that I want to have access to the NAS. :(
