rolling back completely hosed my system despite my best efforts to put the original .sys files back in for 8.1
clean installed W10 and everything works. thanks Microsoft!
Did you do a clean install or upgrade? After reverting my system is hosed because of newer w10 rst drivers that seemed to have been left behind. Now I have to do a refresh :/
Just thought I'd warn everyone against installing Windows 10 on X99 motherboards.
Heed the warning especially if you have an intel gigabit nic (like 217 or 218, etc) as the driver does not load properly. You'll see it working properly in device manager but you will forever have a...
Call my cynical but I bet AT was paid to not put up the review on time or maybe even at all. Considering how controversial the review process was for the 290 when it came out there's obvious bias.
there's zero reason to upgrade from 780 ti to 980 ti. i'm running 780ti in SLI and I won't upgrade until the next ti model comes out. 1080 ti? lol
besides we haven't seen what AMD has in store.
To be fair Mythic Entertainment was already in shambles because of their poor leadership and vision with Dark Age of Camelot. They had an amazing game ahead of its time and pissed it all away.
I had 2 34UM95 monitors and the backlight bleed is godawful. I now have 2x Dell U3415Ws and the backlight bleed is better but not nonexistent how I would like. That said I think 21:9 monitors are the future and I'll never go back.
Are you seriously justifying misrepresentation? Intentional or not it is a big deal considering how nVidia has us over a barrel.
I say this as someone who has owned nVidia graphics cards for the most part.
Well it got weirder because after that I took the entire system apart. Everything was checked where I looked over the board, PSU, video cards, I couldn't find any trace of the burning smell. I didn't go to bed until I knew everything at least physically looked OK.
The system has been solid...
just a quick update so I put together the system and I had a few interesting situations.
1. upon turning on the computer, the fans spun up, and then the whole system turned off. I smelled something burning but I could not find the culprit for the life of me.
2. I should read the manual better...
Just because OCZ was bought out doesn't mean that everything magically changed behind the scenes. It's going to take a few more years with SOLID products and SOLID support before their image turns around.
thanks for the suggestion guys. I did not know about the sysprep option. I'll do that after I do a system image and a windows easy transfer just to be safe. thank you!
I finally dove into getting an X99 setup and I was wondering if anyone has had experience doing a BMR when upgrading the motherboard? Was it worth it? Would it be simply better to do a fresh install? Windows 8.1 deprecated the easy transfer so it's no longer possible to move settings, files, etc...
I was able to get the monitor to 80Hz but I don't want to push my luck. I haven't hooked up the USB to the PC so I couldn't say for sure but I will mention that both the Samsung and LG had wake issues with their software, I'd get "monitor not found" and their software would be useless until I...
quick update: this monitor OC's easily to 75Hz. Not sure if I should go higher but it has smoothed out the experience in windows and games considerably.
My HP ZR30W monitor a circa 2010/2011 model has zero backlight bleed. It uses CCFL and pumps out a ton of heat which prompted me to re-evaluate my dual monitor situation.
I'd hate to think that in 2015 there isn't a quality panel like the HP...
Got the monitor today and I'm still seeing pretty bad backlight bleed. It's not horrific like the LG but damnit, it's there and obvious. For a monitor that costs about $1k this is unacceptable. I'm not sure if I ought to keep the samsung even though it's an 8bit panel but there is no backlight...
I have a few clients that use VOIP through a VPN and so far there haven't been any issues with call quality. It really depends on what kind of hardware is being used as a VPN. In most cases it's a Sonicwall TZ205
Actually, No! This was my fear with VA. Sitting off center on either side there are no shifting colors. The only time when I notice is when I stand up and but that's obviously not a normal position.
I like the monitor so far but I'm not sure it's worth $1300. I've also ordered the Dell U3415W...
So it's here. I unboxed it and got it running. First impressions? Game mode washes things out a bit too much in WoW. I've yet to see what it will do in BF4 for me but I went back to non game mode. As far as response time is concerned there is standard, faster, and fastest. Fastest looked best...
I have a ZR30w and I'm currently using the 34UM95. The problem is the backlight bleed which is really bad but ignoring that 21:9 is FANTASTIC. I cannot go back to the ZR30w even though it's a phenomenal monitor.
Now I kind of wish I saw the Dell first. Oh well, I'll give a review of the samsung...
I just ordered one because the blacklight bleed on my 34UM95 is so bad that it's going back to the store tomorrow.
My only concern is that it's a VA panel and since I've been using IPS for so long (HP ZR30W) I am going worry that I'll be disappointed...
There's a reason why CLC is popular and are getting better. That said air coolers are considerably cheaper but with Noctua you put a load on your PCB and you may lose clearance for ram and/or a PCIe slot.
Don't all CLCs have auto shutdown in the event of temps rising? The only recent case...
