It seems stable right now. I'm running dual prime95 with the fsb at 315, pci-e at 117 and ram at 266mhz (420 actual) 2-2-2-12-1 and still no faults after 15hours, i'm running the small fft test. Upping the pci-e frequency really helped my overclock. I also have pcie downstream process...

I raised my pci-e to 117mhz and now seem to be running stable at 305fsb with the 7600gt. It seems that while it can lock the agp frequency it must use some weird multipllier and underclock the pci-e bus when you overclock the cpu, or maybe now. Either way, it seems to be working now, but this...

Does anybody reading this run a pci-e card on this board? I just bought a 7600gt from newegg and even trying 295fsb, which i was stable at with my agp 6600gt, it locks up after loading windows and i have to do a hard reset. It's as if it's not locking the pci-e freq even though i'm running it...

Changing the pcie-freq didn't do anything for me, still couldn't run 315fsb, it actually didn't just fail prime, it forced a reboot on the system. has anybody tried the new bios and gotten a better o/c than with 1.70?

Has anyone tried using an aftermarket heatsink on the mobo chipset or jerry rigging a fan to the chipset heatsink to see if this would help increase stability? i'm wondering if this would make any difference on the overclocking front. Also, has anyone else tried an older bios and benefited...

In case anybody out there still cares, or if you are also getting abnormally low 3dmark06 scores, make sure that your agp aperture is set high enough. Bumping mine up from 64mb to 128mb basically doubled my score. I just got 1451 (555, 491, 1556) with gfx and cpu at stock.

For some reason 3dmark said it was running at 300mhz for the core, i checked and it's running at 500 like it should. I even overclocked it to 550/1100 and that hardly budged my score, went to 328/200 with a total of 753. As far as i can tell all bios options are good, i have 8x enabled and...

In 3dmark06 with my 6600gt and stock e6300 i'm getting: SM2.0 score: 264 hdr/sm3.0 score: 191 CPU Score: 1552 This is with pretty much everything turned off in the vid card options as well as high performance being selected. Any ideas on what is causing this low score...

Well, with the 1.70 bios i am nowhere near stable at 315fsb, even norton antivirus has problems there, at 310 it wasn't stable either, for now i have brought it down to 295 like most others it seems to run there. It never seemed completely stable at 315 with 1.10 bios, it would pass prime small...

That's my concern with flashing the bios, it seems to be running fine now, and i'm worried if i update it i might lose some of my o/c potential. Plus, i'm lazy and don't have a floppy installed, but if I can do it from windows then tehre shoudln't be a problem there.

Raid partition lost?

By looping I meant it would go into checkdisk, make it to the end or about 90+% of step 5, then it would get bsod and auto restart (I hadn't turned off that option), it would go back to checkdisk, say the disk was cleared and still couldn't start, BSOD, reboot, run checkdisk from the beginning...

Raid partition lost?

My setup uses two 160gb maxtor drives on a raid 0 to make a 300gb drive, which was then partitioned down to a 19gb for windows and program installs and a ~280gb for games and misc. files. I installed a game that crashed when I tried to run it, after the crash an icon appeared in the taskbar...

Wow, that's the same thing as happened to me. Do you knwo the name of that virus? All of the sudden svchost was at 50% and i couldn't end task or anything, i restarted and that's when i had all of my problems, and now i can't copy and paste either.

Ethernet problem

That virus scan finished and didn't find anything. Also, i don't think i can block the computer with the router b/c there is a permanent rule that allows all lan traffic to go out to the internet or to the network. I can login to the router and ping it, but I cannot ping the other computer...

The router is in another room, so far i have: 1) tried plugging the cable into another router port, same thing 2) tried a different cable from a different router port, same thing 3) tried plugging straight into the cable modem with a different cable, same thing Seems like it's dead then...

Ethernet problem

Yes, I think the yellow light is the activity and the green is the connection. It comes on right away whenever i plug something in. It's almost like it's stuck sending but i have cycled the power and completely unplugged the computer. Windows says that the device is fine and working properly...

Steam keeps forgetting

checkdisk found a corrupted file on the drive, but no bad sectors. Does this mean the driver is still faulty or could something else be the problem? Thanks again. I'm trying to reinstall steam on a different hd to see if i get the same problems.

Does anybody have advice on a program to use to check for disk errors? Scandisk (or checkdisk? the one with winxp) reported no problems. Thanks for the help.

Is there another better way to check my harddrive than using scandisk? Also, is there another/better way to check more completely for viruses than running norton antivirus under winxp? Both of those options have shown no errors/viruses.

My system isn't overclocked. I haven't run memtest, but I have run prime95 for over 24 hours, i know this isn't the same thing. I did use checkdisk to check for bad sectors etc. and it reported none and I am running norton antivirus as well as adaware, both updated. Is there someway adaware...

I had been having the memory reference error with steam lately but think i am over it thankfully due to using new drivers. Recently, however, i have had the following problem. I will go to logon to steam and it will have forgotten my password for some reason, i re-enter it and login just fine...

Logisys cf206 vs. Zalman vf700

Actually, I had read about that problem before I bought it and didn't even bother trying to put them on. With the newest drivers my fps difference in hl2 and doom 3 is negligible with the card overclocked, I mainly bought the hs for quiet. It didn't look like they would have fit though.

Logisys cf206 vs. Zalman vf700

I got my zalman today and it's great. I put it on my xfx 6600 agp and it's running in silent mode, silently, and keeps my card 5c cooler idle and load compared to before. Only think is i think i might have somehow killed one of the dvi outs in the process :(.
