Supermicro Twin Server Motherboard, easy to run solo?

Yeah I was thinking of mounting it on plywood in the basement. $45 delivered is attractive. alternatively ebay also has LGA2011 "OEM Server Motherboard Intel C602" for just $110. Standard EATX. The manufacture is not named.

Supermicro Twin Server Motherboard, easy to run solo?

I saw deals for the Supermicro Twin Motherboards X8DTT-F (Dual LGA1366 DDR3 $30). However, the supermicro manual talks about both SSI Standard Power Connectors and 20-pin Proprietary Power Connectors. So is this something that would be easy to rewire with a 6" ATX power extension cable...

Troubleshoot LCD Monitor Flicker only on HDMI?

Yes, Correct he has the flicker using HDMI only connected to the BenQ Computer Monitor. He also reports it flickers connected to his Vizio TV. DP/DVI works fine. It happens connecting only one LCD Monitor to HDMI or all three connected to various port (still just HDMI flickers).

Asrock Warranty no cross ship, 1y or 3r? transferable?

Apparently Asrock's Motherboard warranty does not offer cross ship replacement. I'm Surprised that they did not offer this at an extra charge or with a credit card to secure. http://www.asrock.com/support/index.asp?cat=Policy Asrock at that link above reports a 1 year warranty, but newegg...

    What is Intel's 2016 strategy?

As much as I want to see good competition, what is the chance AMD's Zen is a home run? They have so much ground to make up and Intel can easily do a Skylake Refresh in 2016.

Video Card Returned, but passed FurMark & 3DMark

Yeah that was my initial reaction. I love his quote "I would like to return it before it causes damage to my system, or to my health." I could not find anything at all on the Video Card although I did not remove the HSF. The Power Connector looks perfect.

EBay buyer returned the card I sold HD7970. It passed FurMark 1080p for 30+ min both before and after sale. I also ran 3DMark Fire Strike and Cloud Diver benchmarking without issues. Update: Ran FurMark now for an hour and still looks good. Inspected everywhere especially the PCIe...

Can anyone name a mATX, or mITX boards that have official Xeon support (with ECC)?

HP Quad Gigabit Ethernet, NC364T, Windows 8 Drivers?

Update, the card worked great and Windows 8 auto detected the drivers in a different AMD System. Wow, and suggestions making this work or a different dual or quad Intel Server NIC that may work better? I need PCI-e NIC that is reasonably priced on ebay where this was just $90.

Current Pending Sector Count w/new WD Red [updated]

    >It just irks me... Both my less-than-one-year-old drives, a Samsung 840Pro and this WD Red, were replaced with refurb units. Hum, Do you have a high quality power supply? Even slightly poor power makes a big difference. Seasonic and Corsair power supplies are recommended.

Current Pending Sector Count w/new WD Red [updated]

Sorry to hear that. It will depend on your tolerance for risk and others I'm sure will way in. At the minimum, its prudent to do periodic testing and watch for an increase. Perhaps weekly or monthly testing. When was the last time you tested to confirm your backups? Perhaps its a good...

Is this a sign of PSU degradation?

IMO, hard to say exactly but one possibility is it may have taken a minor surge and you needed to discharge the capacitor(s) (pressing the power button with the cord removed) to drain them before it worked. I would not be too concerned about it. Although I'm a big fan of quality power...

    Infiniband or 10GB Ethernet => storage server/NAS?
