how can you- raid0 2 harddisks daisy-chained from a 1 channel scsi card?

Could you be a little more specific? It would help to know just where/what the problem is so that we can help you to solve/diagnose it. Could you try the procedure yourself? The guide may be for 2000, but it is very similar for XP.

how can you- raid0 2 harddisks daisy-chained from a 1 channel scsi card?

What he said:) You should not notice any serious slowdowns, I had this implemented back on NT, with a P-Pro 200.

Converting from miniDV --> PAL VHS tape

If you have a card that supports output, you can. Before I go any further, what model is the card? If it is a TV Wonder, you don't have output capabilities. Do you have a CD Burner? You could burn a VCD and send that to them.

    Battery back-up suggestions

A little more info would be helpful, ie system specs (including ps rating), what size montor, usage type, etc. APC is known for higher quality products, however some cheaper brands work just as well. I can't really reccomend a specific product without knowing your needs. /edit/ Here's a...

    HD TV converter for computers?

DTV = Digital TV It is digitally transmited over the cable system to provide a better picture and better audio. Current cable systems transmit analog signals that lose quality quickly, and do not have the clarity of dTV. Almost all cable providers offer dTV now, with many more channels and...

    HD TV converter for computers?

Yeah, and if you go cable you will probably have to use your provider's box.

Can i record video with an audio interface?

No,you can record digital video. Your Audigy is simply acting as a passthrough device, it is not converting the video to digital. There's a big difference, and you can really piss off any DV tech by confusing the two.

    HD TV converter for computers?

That depends, do you want your computer involved? There is an HDTV tuner by Hauppauge, it will allow for all of your video inputs to be processed (and displayed) by the PC. Viewsonic makes a product for standalone conversion to your monitor, the site is down right now so I can't provide you...

which monitor setting is better for your eyes?

As high as possible is best, anything below 72 can cause problems such as eye fatigue, headaches, etc. Industry standard is 85hz at recomended res, some brands go higher.

    Seagate Barracuda IV+heat

I don't think you should, unless the Seagate instructions tell you to use a separate fan. If it does fail, it should be covered under warranty, because you are giving it normal use. Cooling the drive won't hurt though, and I'm sure most review sites would test the drive to it's max(thus extra...

What could be the problem: I have to turn on my pc various times to get it to post and work correctly... :(

Also check that your 120/240 switch(if you have one) on the PS is all the way over onto 120. I've ran into that kinda-booting situation before, felt really dumb after realizing it was just the partally moved switch. It probably is something with the RAM or PS, I just don't want you to overlook...

Need someone to explain to me laptop memory

Yeah, that sounds right. Basically it is the chip density, some mobos don't like high density RAM.

Holy crap! They've got heatsinks on SCSI cards now!

Many onboard controllers have heatsinks, and high use systems come with heatsinks. Most Intergraph systems came with heatsinks installed at the factory, Intergraph was bought by SGI in 2000. I would think most SGI systems also install heatsinks on their SCSI controllers.

Any optical mouse will do, although I think you would be better off with a tablet. Wacom makes good tablets, and several other devices aimed at digital artists.

They've had heatsinks on SCSI cards for a few years now.

Has anyone ever heard of the vendor: "Computer Software Plus"?

they look genuine, probably a new store. They are listed on Pricewatch, so there is 'someone' at this company. I would give them a no-hassle credit card though, just in case.

It might boot, but at the highest speed the motherboard supports. The processor wouldn't be running at it's rated speed.

Whats the big deal about memory bandwidth?

Faster RAM = Faster processing. If your RAM can't deliver the amount of data as fast as your CPU needs, your RAM becomes the bottleneck. While there is little difference bettween the DDR standards, it makes a difference to those gamers who want bragging rights. :D Plus, it is product...

    Cable Modem

LAN would be faster, since USB uses shared bandwith for all devices on the bus. Also, some USB controllers eat up CPU cycles, slowing your computer down.

I'm not really sure if there is an app to do what you want, but have you tried RealProducer? You can have several machines stream content to one RealVideo server, and then access the content via RealPlayer.

    Win XP, very sensitive.........

If there is no valuable data (you can reload updates/programs) then just format it. Since your last format was a week ago, you probably don't have much personal data on there, if any. Have you tried safe mode? You could probably copy your documents from the command line.

AMD Athlon and Intel Pentium 4 Failure Rates??

Most retailers do not accept returns on opened processors, because it is impossible to tell if the chip was really bad or if it was overclocked/installed improperly. Processors rarely 'go bad', most problems come from abuse. Both of the CPU's you mentioned are good CPU's, it is basically...

    S Video Adapter?

I think that this is what you want. It is an adaptor that plugs directly into the PS2 and gives Svideo and composite outputs, priced at $9.99. Just plug one end into the PlayStation2 and the other into the TV Tuner card.

AMD Athlon and Intel Pentium 4 Failure Rates??

By failure rates, do you mean DOA rates? They are normally tested before they leave the factory. Processors are fairly reliable, takes a major problem(overclockers!) to kill them.

Should be no problem, as long as you do not want to boot from it. Even then, it's a fairly recent board. I would still reccomend multiple partitions, though.
