Could you be a little more specific? It would help to know just where/what the problem is so that we can help you to solve/diagnose it. Could you try the procedure yourself? The guide may be for 2000, but it is very similar for XP.

If you have a card that supports output, you can. Before I go any further, what model is the card? If it is a TV Wonder, you don't have output capabilities. Do you have a CD Burner? You could burn a VCD and send that to them.

No,you can record digital video. Your Audigy is simply acting as a passthrough device, it is not converting the video to digital. There's a big difference, and you can really piss off any DV tech by confusing the two.

As high as possible is best, anything below 72 can cause problems such as eye fatigue, headaches, etc. Industry standard is 85hz at recomended res, some brands go higher.

What could be the problem: I have to turn on my pc various times to get it to post and work correctly... :(

Also check that your 120/240 switch(if you have one) on the PS is all the way over onto 120. I've ran into that kinda-booting situation before, felt really dumb after realizing it was just the partally moved switch. It probably is something with the RAM or PS, I just don't want you to overlook...

Holy crap! They've got heatsinks on SCSI cards now!

Many onboard controllers have heatsinks, and high use systems come with heatsinks. Most Intergraph systems came with heatsinks installed at the factory, Intergraph was bought by SGI in 2000. I would think most SGI systems also install heatsinks on their SCSI controllers.

Any optical mouse will do, although I think you would be better off with a tablet. Wacom makes good tablets, and several other devices aimed at digital artists.

If there is no valuable data (you can reload updates/programs) then just format it. Since your last format was a week ago, you probably don't have much personal data on there, if any. Have you tried safe mode? You could probably copy your documents from the command line.

By failure rates, do you mean DOA rates? They are normally tested before they leave the factory. Processors are fairly reliable, takes a major problem(overclockers!) to kill them.
