Hi I flashed the BIOS on my FIC503+ AMDK-6-2 m/c over the weekend. When I booted up, it showed several things missing including my CDROM drive. Does this mean the new BIOS is not a good idea and I should just go back to the old one or is this common and I have to reinstall the OS now? Thanks...

thanks for the suggestion. tried that but it did not help. In the control panel/System/Device Manager it still shows an exclamation point against the PCI Serial Bus Controller. On looking at properties, it says Update the drivers for this device. And I cant find the drivers anywhere. Another...

Hi I have FIC 503+ motherboard with AMD K6-2 @350Mhz. When I booted up with Win98, it gives the mesg 'New H/w found' for 'Serial bus controller' and tries to find the software for it. Is it possible that something wrong with the board? I tried the Win98 cdrom but apparently drivers are not...

question about HDD - PIO mode

Secondary IDE channel detected PIO - WHY?

Thanks. Checked that. My Secondary channel is set to 'auto'. So i decided not to change it. Also, it does detect the two drives at startup. Another thing - right now, I am seeing the CDROM (which is master) as UDMA and the Iomega as PIO! Please help!

I have an epox 8kta+ with a duron 700 in Win2k. The primary IDE channel appears to work OK (knock wood!!), i.e. detected as UDMA and HDD works fine. The secondary IDE has a CDROM and a CD-RW (Iomega12x10). That channel always shows up in PIO mode. If I choose to upgrade drivers for the channel...

Back again ?? Visioneer 2400 Scanner for 9.98 after rebate( Staples )

I have a question about scanners: how does the dpi and the # of bits matter? I have a 300x600 dpi 36 bit scanner. If I switch to this (600x1200 bits and same number of bits) will it make a difference? Thanks :)
