    For those of you who have LOUD comps - do you DVD or MP3?

    The PEP66 is hard to beat. I have a 60x25 LOUD Sunon fan on mine right now and it's on a 5v/12v switch. It needs 12v to do high cpu utilization like cpuburn3 and 3dMark2000. When surfing the net, 5v is fine but then it's the *SmartFan* on my Antec 300W psu that sounds like a 747 on a long haul...

    An 8-1/2. Sounds good enough to me. I agree with the candy apple red and it has to be smooth and shiny chrome. I also want the impossible. A totally gold plated (fake gold like they use on plastic picture frames) 80mm fan to sit on the outside of the side panel with a bright light behind it...

    I think there are several issues to look at here, so lay down the tools and the wallet for a while ;). 1# What's the "stock" operating temp for a P450. My stock HP P300 if I remember, runs warmer than my P750@915. The P300 hs has no fan. An 80mm fan on back blows baby breaths to it...

    Sitka I GOOGLED (what the heck does this word mean) :) ) for kits speed control 67 and found this. Now this is a justifiable price for a dc motor controller I think. More sophisticated than a plain rheostat. Is this the right stuff??? Thanks.

    sitka.... that store is in Canada. Caseetc has a rheostat but it almost comes to ten American clams with shipping and handling. It would be nice to have one though. I'll check a couple of auto parts store tomorrow and see. It might just help me get over the sticker shock.

    Idea for Cool & Quiet case & cpu.

    I think it's a good idea, specially if the ducting don't have too many bends on them and you need extra cooling for your cpu. The ps fan should be able to keep the system temp cool. To keep the ps fan more effective, I'd make sure the ambient room air has entry points are in strategic places...
